How Will These Compare?
Just wondering if I should order new sways for my 2012 or will the new sways be comparable? Would current sways even work on the 2012s? Any help from the experts or otherwise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

There are far better sway bars on the market than these. They are better than current OE. But if you are going to spend the money and time to upgrade, choose the best for your money

TMoneySS (Taylor)![]() P.S. If everyone wasn't aware this will be the NEW OE for the 2012 SS (1SS and 2SS)! Last edited by TMoneySS; 05-15-2011 at 06:12 PM. |

For drag racing the stiffer the better in the rear. One of the aftermarket adjustable ones work well because you can have it on the first or second hole for regular cruising and then switch to the stiffest right before you head to the track. It helps the IRS act more like a solid rear and will plant the tires a bit better.

GREAT QUESTION!!
I dont think you all answerd the questions though... IF the FE4 suspension has redesigned geometry will the CURRENTLY OFFERED afrermarket sways even fit? Thats how I read his question.
I am curious too. I have a modded 2010 I am thinking of trading up for a 45AE. Will my take off BMR sways mount up to the 2012??? |

+1....which means I will probably just stay with the improved stock ones...granted it leaves a little play in the rear but i can't imagine it being a ton considering if I got the aftermarket ones they would probably go on hole 2 and stay there! Thanks to everyone so far and any more opinions are very welcome!
P.S. Jrhaus I am also getting a 45th AE! ![]() Also if I did upgrade do I need both front and rear or just rear? Do i need new end links or not? Last edited by TMoneySS; 05-15-2011 at 07:34 PM. |

Well the fact that they're changing them means the knowledge we have of the current ones may not be valid on the 2012's. Personally I'd get both even though some companies offer rear only options. End links are good if you road race it or plan on getting the super stiff setups as both scenarios add a lot of stress. Otherwise I'd run the stockers until they break which may or may not ever happen.

Thanks for the advice Synner! I just wanted to be sure i had everything so that I can have it installed all at once! I will more then likely leave the stockers on till they break, which like you said, may not be ever! Thanks again!

I'm thinking this is a question that can't really be answered yet? Aren't you referring to a car that hasn't even hit the street yet? How should anyone really know if this is the case? I'm thinking the only way you'll know is when you get the car, no?

Because they are changing the mounting points on the rear, it changes the actual effectiveness of the bars rate to begin with, so people will have to wait and see if they like the new handling characteristics before they make a decision to stick with them or not. We have a ton of data and user experiences for current sway bars, but only time will tell on the new FE4 stuff. We are on top of it though, as soon as we get more concrete info we will be sure to let everyone know! -Blair Last edited by PfadtRacing; 05-16-2011 at 04:56 PM. |
