So i went to the track, the car felt stronger and definately had some gains from my intake and headers, the only thing is i didnt get a better time slip..... i only managed a 15.01 at 95mph. The weather last night was super humid though around 32-34 degrees with about 90% humidity. The car felt strong and went great but it just didnt show it, maybe it was me in driving but i seriously think it was the weather. A 2011 5.0L only ran a best of 13.9 all day aswell so everyone was going pretty slow yesterday. One thing i did knotice though on one time slip was i got 101 mph but a ET of 15.5 i believe i missed third on that run though.

The other thing is that when i did a few runs i checked the intake it did move up and close the gap so i re-adjusted it but we left after that. ill wait for the cooler weather and DEFINATELY a set of BMR trailing arms to help that bit of wheel hopp. Otherwise the Vararam feels great and i love it 3rd 4th and 5th are alot more usefull now!

Ill post the time slip when i get home! thanks

Well the weather here is around 70 today. Last night when I installed the Vararam it was 67. Also 15.0 for this car I would think looking at other times that are posted is pretty slow. What was your previous time before the modification? Weather, Driver and of course car set up has alot to do with 1/4 mile times. Humm, any thoughts?

Meh, considering he was only 1 second slower than a 2011 5.0 that was barely under 14 seconds I'd say that's a pretty decent run (those run around 12.8-13.0 stock.) Wait until the weather cools a little.

Last time the temputure was probally around 25 with little to no humidity, a very nice calm summer day, i ran a 14.98 at best... but that was my first time ever at the track , i know if i didnt miss 3rd on one pass i would of definitely hit a 14sec pass , i had the guy just before the 1000ft and missed 3rd gear... he ran 14.1 i ran a 15.4 , oh well always a next time!

i thought about it to run pretty much exact same time as stock at about 8-10* higher temp and a crap load more of humidity , the car has to be running decent, and for a 5.0 to run a 13.9... i should be on track somewhere lol!

Spyderbuddy,

So did the old clean side breather assembly just yank right out? I was afraid to start pulling on mine. Where did you get that new breather and the fitting?

I'm about to order a catch can from Rx, and he recommended plugging the breather assembly instead of using the Vararam breather, and then using the breather cap they provide for the oil cap.

I like your solution though and am anxious to hear more.

Use DragTimes "Density Altitude Calculator" to correct for weather:

Received my replacement under body last night and installed it this afternoon with no issues. It fits nicely to TB with no gap. I also went to track last night and my best time was 15.08 @ 93mph. It was around 90* .

Ugh...brutal. We need the temps to level out a bit and hopefully get a closer to the same temp/humidity as before. In which case you should see an improvement in your time. If there is still no improvement, well then that would be the time to start questioning things.

VictoryRed, your time doesn't sound all that bad to me considering a 2011 5.0 ran a 13.9.

Did you ever run it bone stock? I believe one of the mags got around 14.2, stock. Then again, this hot & humid weather sucks for performance
