You are still not going to like the sound of 4 cyl's when AFM kicks in with any exhaust modification..... if you are open to getting a tune (could void warranty, but will shut off AFM) then wait and do Headers, catback exhaust, CAI, and tune at the same time, best power gain for the money..... just remember Headers will make a quiet axleback or catback become much louder. If you don't want S.O. attention and plan on headers do the Touring. If you are not doing headers, Touring is fairly quiet and you may want the "S".

I have a Borla Touring catback exhaust. It is NOT as quiet as stock. It is quieter than the atak or s-type. I started with headers and the borla exhaust. It gave me a nice growl at idle and sound great under throttle, but it is pretty quiet when cruising so you can hear your music or carry on a conversation.

I have since added a cam and the car is much louder with the cam. Everyone is amazed that I have the Borla Touring exhaust when they hear it because it is quite loud due to the cam.

From what I understand, GM uses the Borla Touring as their GM Performance exhaust for the SS.

Either way, I like the lower decibels. Louder than stock yes, but the more aggressive sound is more important to me than breaking ear drums.

I'm with Emma..... my Touring axleback without headers was still louder than stock, not much at idle, but more when in the throttle. Now with headers added, I'm glad I have a garage door to keep shut at startup, it is pretty loud, once the idle comes down it is much quieter. But get in the throttle and it gets the cops heads turning..... Good luck and enjoy!!!

Here is a video with intake, headers, supercharger, and the borla touring exhaust.

Here is a newer video. I have added a cam here and exhaust cutouts. The cutouts are closed for the first 30 seconds of the clip, so you can hear the borla touring exhaust with the cam.

I would not want anything louder than my touring exhaust with a cam and headers.

One more word of advice..... if you are set on not tuning AFM off for warranty reasons.... look at Solo's axleback with a "J" pipe, supposedly made to cancel the AFM drone that will be much worse with the Borla's.

Padre

The GMPP road version is suppose to be the Borla Touring, the GMPP offroad version is suppose to be the "S" type....... you get a purty little Chevy bowtie on the tips, but pay quite a bit more..... (I do like my Bowties there )

I've heard the touring in person and I really don't hear a difference (not enough to change from stock anyway). I went with Borla S-type and I'm 100% satisfied with it. It's louder in person than in Borla's comparison video IMO. ATAK just sounded too loud inside the cab. Very easy to install too. Listen to the videos over and over until you decide which one YOU like the best.

No headers. I hear a difference with headers though from the videos. I just love the sound of the S Type, especially when it boggs down.
