I can't get the headrest retainers out!!

I am going from cloth to leather, and have the entire seat cover off except the top where the 2 holes are. The plastic retainters that you push the buttons to adjust the headrest height. What the heck is the secret to removal here? I hope the back seats are easier than this...

Passenger seat complete!

I ended up stretching the material and working off from under the headrest ring holes. I finished putting the factory leather seat cover on in its place. I did the same thing. I slightly stretched and worked the holes back over the headrest plastic and it tightened right up and fits beautifully. I will finish the rest of the car in leather then post my pictures and how-to.

I don't even think I'd have the nerve to take that stuff apart,in the fear of having problems putting it back on.Good for you!

If it's a pain to take off good luck getting it back on. I'm with you on that one.

There is a small clip inside the hole: pull forward with a small screwdriver and have your assistant push up on he retainer from below. Get a sting flashlight or petzl to locate clip.

Success!

I just stretched and pulled over the plastic to remove. When I put the new leather seat covers on, I just worked over the top of the plastic headrest mounts and it conformed under the bezels. Just a little stretching was the easy way to do it and no damage/dissapointment.
