Headrest
I've been driving my Camaro for a couple of weeks now and loving it!!
I'm just wondering if anyone feels like I do that the headrest for the seat isn't as comfortable as I was hoping for. My specific issue is that the headrest is a little further back than I want and so I have to slouch in the seat a bit to make it OK, but that causes discomfort at my lower back. I think that the headrest location is chosen carefully by Chevy to make sure that the headrest will also work if you're wearing a helmet. It's just a bit too far back for me. Ideally, I would have an adjustment that would allow me to move the headrest forward/backward. Oddly enough, I didn't seem to have this problem in my C5 vette, but perhaps that's because the lower part of the seat was much softer than the Camaro's seat and therefore more able to conform to my body. I suppose custom seats are an option, but that's just so wrong! The Camaro seats look amazing!! Thoughts anyone?

I've never used the headrest on any car to actually rest my head on while driving, so it doesn't bother me, and I can't say for sure if it's further back than any other car I've owned. I was under the impression that the main intent of the headrest was it is a safety feature to prevent whiplash, not for comfort or to rest your head against while driving. JMO

I got a 7hr drive to my home town which I do once a month to visit friends and family and the only part of me that is sore when I get there is my neck. I use my flight pillow now helps alot. |

After you drive your camaro for a few months your head should mostly shrink back to normal. Then it will be more comfortable.

My wife and I both have bad lower backs. My C5 Corvette had the most uncomfortable seats of any car I have ever owned. Those seat bottoms were so firm that I felt every bump and tar strip. We could not be in it for more than a few hours. My previous C4 and current C6 GS seats are so much more comfortable. However, the cloth seats in our 1LT are the best of all. Two weeks ago we drove 9 hours from SW PA to NC and could both walk when we got out of the car at the end of the day. To be honest with you, I never notice the head rests. But that's just my subjective opinion.

You are correct about the C5 seats, I thought they were great till I sat in my C6 seats, a world of difference. By the way the C6 shell in the seat is made out of Carbon Fiber. My Camaro seat is very comfortable, but a ajustable headrest would be better. Try moving the back slightly to give you a better position.

So you are saying you drive your cars actually resting your head on the head rest?
The only complaints I ever hear about are the seats that the headrest is actually too far forward due to the new federal regualations. Not discouninting your concern, it's just the opposite of every complaint I ever hear on our seats.

Today when I drove home I slouched in the seat a bit and my problem is reduced a lot, but the seat is still new so it's not comfortable yet. I think it will go away once the seat is broken in a bit. I know that the headrests are too far back for me, but if you know that most others complain that it's too forward, then that's probably due to my unique body/head type.

Neck pain can be caused by the angle of the back of the seat. Try different angles and that may solve it for you.
