Opinion. Do I need a tune?

I have the BBK CAI and Axle-back MRT V2 exhaust. I am planning on getting the VMAX Throttle body and oil catch can. Should I get a tune at that point or is it a waste of money?

You do not need a tune at this point... you would barely notice it and your warranty would be gone. Not worth it IMO

Also do you have an auto or stick in that LT...

I would respectfully disagree. Everyone I know with a 2010-2011 Camaro has said their tunes made a night and day difference with how well their cars drove. If you have the right tune, it is a world of difference, especially if you have an L99.

I agree, even with a V6, especially in an auto car, the transmission tune alone is worth it to most people.
Then again, it will most likely void your heavy line warranty, so is it worth it? That's up to personal opinion...

We recently voided a customers warranty who had 2400 miles on his '11 SS with a few internal engine mods and custom dyno tune, and he is super happy with it!

- Jeremy

P.S. If you do get a tune, get one custom for your car and your engine, not one out of a box, unless it is then customized for the way your car runs!

I would have to agree with the majority of the posters in this thread, you should get a tune, you will feel a difference. Especially since its a A6 car! The difference will be like night and day!!

Feel free to give me a call anytime,

That's why I asked if he had an auto... and second he doesn't have an L99. Tune is always good, but you have to weigh the consequenses of losing warranty. To me I could care less about warranty but others value it big time.

Warranty concerns me a little, but not enough to not squeeze out the most from my car!

On a side note, Everything I have heard from this site has been awesome and I appreciate you people more than you know. It is nice to get questions answered from intelligent, knowledgable and friendly people.

you dont need a tune, but if you want the most out f your car and you dont care about the warrenty then I highly recommend it for an L99 especially.

For people who have warranty concerns, they can always get a "stealth tune" that keeps the original Calibration Verification Numbers as the stock tune.

Don't believe it, the CVN numbers has nothing to do with the Flash counter.

From what I've read "stealth tunes" are no better than snake oil. But Ted is the tune master so I'll let him go into more detail if he wants to.

GM knows if you reflash, remember the mantra, if you can't pay don't play.
