I think European cars suck...when they break it is twice as expensive and just as hard to fix. Some ideas they have are good and others are over engineered. I know several people who own BMW's, Lamborghini, Benz's, etc. and the problems and service costs they have are outrageous. I will give them credit where credit is due. They come up with some great ideas. However the American engineer is who I truly believe in. They have used these other ideas and perfected them to be reliable. Just because something looks like it is well engineered doesn't mean it will work. The history of this country is the best example. |

![]() I'm not sure why anyone would be disappointed here...we're talking a matter of weeks added to what's already been several years (5 in my case). Are we so enslaved to that "instant gratification" notion that we look past the fact they're holding them to ensure they're going to be Perfect when we do get them? They'll be here before we know it -- and frankly, I think it's impressive that they recognize our enthusiasm and anticipation enough to send out a notice to us with an update. Unforeseen things happen - I'm happy they're keeping us in the loop. |

![]() I for one APPRECIATE the transparency they are upholding with respect to vehicle production. I don't fool myself into thinking this still wouldn't be happening if we weren't aware...something like "out of sight, out of mind." This QC has to do with manufacturing precision and quality. I'd like to think we're all mature enough to deal with this without crying "foul" because we're impatient....

Yes, if im hungry don't come tell me the food will be ready in an hour that'll just make it worse wait till its done then tell me dinners ready. GM wants us hungry so we don't complain about dealer mark ups. There's no reason to build this many cars before checking the quality I mean if you owned a car company would you build over 300 cars that may have problems that you may have to change and loose money on or would you make sure the prototypes were perfect before putting the car into official production?

With respect - let's continue your metaphor....the restaurant told you BEFORE you sat down that it'll be an hour wait. If you weren't prepared to deal with that...I'm not sure you should have ordered. |

Lol in your case? There are tons who have been waiting a long time. Also, you've driven one already, so it's easier to be patient. |

I have driven one...if anything, I'd argue it's making my wait worse!! I had decided to put it out of my mind until it got here...whenever that was. Now I can't. I think about it during lunch...I even dream about driving around that track......

Folks....after reading this forum since October 30th of 2011 and currently waiting at 4B00, I have come to believe there is virtually 2 schools of thought regarding the ZL 1 delivery; those that are comfortable with the wait and those who are not comfortable with the wait. The forum is a great place to air both opinions and emotions. I think many of us who are uncomfortable are merely "anxious" and hard wired to get results as driven folks. There are the rest of us who most likely live life more calm and collected and reflect apparently much more patience. We all simply want our cars.....

I never said it wouldn't be happening but its like this remember being a kid and cutting your foot or toe without realizing? You were fine till you looked down and saw that blood. Its always worse once you know. Its not that im impatient, I saved for five years to get a new car this will be my first new model optioned how I wanted I've been patient waiting months to order then waiting on the order to go thru, then I overlooked them telling me I can't have the hood I want, now I have to endure them holding my car for an as of yet undetermined ammount of time and they feel like I don't even deserve to know how long to anticipate this wait to be. I may not be brand loyal but Chevrolet has always been my first choice but unfortunatly this experience has soured that for me. I feel like Ill never be able to order a new GM vehicle without wandering what kind of headache it will be to get it here

But did it cross your mind, if they didn't write that in there, that maybe they didn't know themselves? It would be no reflection on what they think you deserve to know. Clearly they think a lot of us ZL1 buyers, that they're issuing these notices to us, at all.... These first-year woes will be the same for nearly all brand new vehicles from any company (ask Challenger owners what Chrysler put them through in 2008)...that's why most people have the good sense to wait for the second model year (not like you or I, ). But we live with it, because getting a '12 MY was worth it. |

Lets try this again, I would like to thank all of the ZL1 team for the incredible experience in getting the greatest car ever produced. Becky, Fbod, and Super60, you guys have been great as well. With that said I apologize for any whining or complaining I may have done in the past. I am here to stay, my garage is almost ready for the delivery of Tman1. Have a nice day.
