I got the Edelbrock supercharger on then SLP headers with the CAI . I just had it tuned and it was 504 RWHP. I just talked to my tuner about a smaller pulley and he said that if I did that he would recommend a ZL1 fuel pump and I should gain about 40 to 50 RWHP. So $30 for pulley $250 pump and $600 labor and tune. Is it worth it. Hell yes to me it is considering what I paid for the supercharger to gain what I did.

What would that be making for boost 9-10 # ?
I keep flip-flopping , one day I want to go for it , the next day I'm thinking about how much louder its going to be.
Already have the Fuel Pump upgrade, Whipple pulleys are about $160, another $1000 for headers and mid pipe ,still not bad compared to whats been spent to get where i am now.One big problem is no local tuner.

You would net more ET from gears/convertor, however your engine will thank you for doing the headers first. Stock manifiolds increase cylinder head pressures a fair amount from the restriction. An engine with headers is basically "taxed" less and theoretically will last longer at the same power output.

Agreed. Headers add flow efficiency. You lose a bit of boost, but actually make more power, and safer too. You usually lose 1 lbs of boost with headers.

You also lose a pound of boost and increase efficiency with a set of cat deletes (like Jba). Whp gain is very close to long tubes on a boosted application. Not the same, no...but very close. Close enough for you to take a good look at money spent and throw those funds at gears or a converter.

I'm running my Lysholm on the stock headers right now. With the canned lysholm and just a catback, I'm getting 501 rwhp. Planning on upgrading to LT's and high flow cats sometime in the future though. I'm not too concerned about it since I don't really push my car very hard.

I started with a maggie installed at the dealer before I took delivery. Last week I had LT's, catback, Boost a pump, and a smaller pulley installed. Dynoed with just maggie and canned tune from magnuson at 474rwhp. After the exhaust, headers, bap, pulley and a custom tune it dynoed at 561rwhp.

Ceyl...that's not justifying headers man....that's upping the boost and a retune. It should add power. Good numbers!

ceyl - how did those change the cars feel and ability? Seems like a pretty sizable upgrade with some nice HP gains on the Dyno. Did it translate to the pavement?

Update : Added 1 7/8 Headers and High Flow cats over the weekend.
Waiting on 02 Wire Extenders
Changed the pulley down 1 size to bring back the boost.
And a new Tune will be going on later this week ,,, I hope.
Already have a ADM pump so don't need a boost a pump.
Would be great to pick up the HP like ceyl .

I realize it doesn't justify the headers but if you are going to force air in you should also let it out. I think most of the gain was in the tune. The boost before headers was 5psi. After header install and the smaller pulley it was 5.5-6psi.

It did translate to the pavement! I don't remember the last time a car pushed my big fat butt down into the seat like this one does now.
