Anyone who Supercharged 1st Headers Later ?

I had a Whipple Supercharge put on my L99 Camaro.
Now I'm thinking I want even more

Anyone done this and think it was a waste of budget that could have been used for gears , suspension or better wheel/tires?

The installer is telling me that headers and intake are a great Bang for the Buck on a stock car,,, but I might be dissapointed adding them now.
Probably only get 30-35 more RWHP .
And to get that 30-35 HP will require a new pulley and a new tune, so basically another $1500+
And the High Flow cats might be a problem now that its supercharged.

Basic discussion was gears would be the next best move.

If you go with a 2" header I think you'll get more HP then 30-35. Regardless, yes its a great add to a heads/cam and FI car setup. Plus, there's cheaper options then 1500 bucks you need to shop around.

Smaller pulley almost definitely. But a pulley is only like a hundred dollars.

The headers open up that power number on a stock car.

Letting your system breath better AND smaller pulley could get you way more than that. Especially to pulley down.

Plus it will sound WAY better.

I did my supercharger first. After I installed the headers and got a tune I gained 44rwhp/50rwtq

Pulley. Or gears. Headers won't make big gains FI. 20-25 whp which is claimed on lngtubes under FI have really not been backed up here on these forums. I posted and dropped the gauntlet for a dyno graph. Never got one. You can make almost the same power with the cats deleted. Now...if your goal is every last inch of hp with all hell thrown to budget, then by all means order some lngtubes. They will make for a more efficient machine and will make a small difference. Is up to u as to what $1000 is worth to u.

Pulley stayed the same. Not sure if anything happened to the boost.

The pulley is already the smallest it can go, ECS uses restrictor plates. So, for instance, instead of being unrestricted and having a 4" diameter opening, there's a plate with a 3.5" diameter opening.

From what a couple Tuners have told me , on a whipple the boost will drop 1 to 1.5 lbs with headers .
So no pulley change will make the engine run more efficent, but maybe only gain 10-15 hp .
Pulley down to get the boost back and get 30 hp.

Oh , i really don't want a loud car either , but most say that header/high flow cats don't make that much more sound with the resonator and mufflers being stock.

Ah. Got it.

Hmmmmm............. In that case I might go with gears or a Stall converter.

Had the PFadt rear suspension and Diff bushings plus Trailing arms and Toe Rods put on.
Would like to do Coil overs instead of just the lowering springs, but thats a pricey step also.

So many ways to spend more on mods.

So torque converter or gears.
