I'll take the 400+ HP V8 for $37,000 or so, I guess that will be the Z-28 and then I'll customize from there. I guess the Camaro SS will have 505+ HP and $45,000 price tag.

Tired of arguing the same thing with you. I'm more than pleasantly surprised that the base V8 will have 400+ HP.
i didnt know we were arguing? i was conversing.

$37,000 for a base V8? That had better be loaded to the gills or a well equipped convertible.

I strongly agree. Look at cars out there now. The Camaro has to beat those prices to be competitive. That means, we'll be paying less than the Mustang GT for more power than the same car. If you want all those amenities, then you can pay $37k, but I plan on paying $30k tops. It's going to be cheap. Don't worry about pricing. We've gotten all the assurances in the world that this will be a car we can all afford with all the power they can afford to put in it.

That would be ideal...but look for ~$500-$750 more than a similar Mustang GT. (with more options than the 'Stang of course)

It won't be like taking your girlfriend on a date to McDonald's, but you certainly won't have to sell yourself on the streets to pay for it.

Cheap as in less than expensive is more what I meant.

And if it costs more than a Mustang, it'll still cost less per horsepower. I'm hoping for less than that, but I'll take a few extra dollars in stride if it costs $500 more.

i would buy 2 if you were makingthe prices on these things. however i dontthink you will be seeing a 500+ hp camaro for 45k. and if they do, like i said i WILL buy 2. keep one as a collector and one as a modified.

Wow, I'm selling my soul and left arm just to make it to the $32,000 mark for the V8, that's without a wife, kid or parents...

It will be interesting to see what the TOP Dog will be going for, will it be more than the base Corvette? Guess we'll see soon enough.

As long as its better than my 4th gen Ill be happy with the base V8.

If i had $45000 + to spend, I would go for the SS if it had a better engine (ls3 vs l76, LS3 VS supercharged whatever...) but if its like the 1998 to 2002s they have the same engine, why would I pay chevy prices for lame upgrades? I can buy better after market parts for less.

And on that note...
I would Probably be happy with a totally "stripped down" base V8. I don't want xm radio, on star, or anything like that. All i need is AC, power windows, keyless entry, 400hP, a 6 speed... Im good to go.

I'll take a 2011 Convertable V6 white with hugger orange stripes, Like the 69 Indy Pace Car Camaro....

Sounds like the same schedule they used for the Sky, it started actual production in January 2006 and the first cars were delivered in March 2006 as a 2007 model (I put my order in for my first Sky June 2005, delivered March 2006)... it worked once, so it should again!!
