Going to either coast creates a regional C5FEST. Who do we want to leave out this year the East or the West coast C5 members?

Ohio is a mid-point between Chicago and NY cities with a significant Ohio population. It would deliver a large number of Camaro owners.

Three of the top ten largest cities are in TEXAS. TEXAS is where Chevrolet sells the most Camaros.

The moderators can bang this around from now till the cows come home. It won't change the facts that by population and Camaro sales volume THE place to host C5FEST is TEXAS. If they decide to go again all logic and hold it in SD or Tampa, Pedders will be happy to support them and host the Autocross. Unfortunately there will be fewer Camaros and C5 members because we have gone coastal.

Agree with Pete.

Even though I live near Charlotte NC now and would prefer to have it there......

Texas is pretty central to both coasts. I would drive to Texas from NC to make it this year.

The good news is....we've gotten pretty good at throwing darts on a map. So there's no need to worry!

Uhm... well not good enough... according to the last round of darts...

the fest is most likely to be in the Pacific or Atlantic oceans.... there were a couple in the Gulf of Mexico....

Ok let's run with this.

In the interest of sharing a part of reasoning as to why we chose Indy this year.

For the same reasons Pete discusses we decided to go to the most densely populated part of the country. If you consider Camaros sold per square mile. The northeast quadrant has sold more Camaro's than the rest of the country combined...

But that doesn't mean we are going to stay there either. The rest of Pete's argument is also valid. Accessibility. We can't forget that Camaro5 is not a regional forum... We can't forget about our Brothers and Sisters to the north who have as much passion for the Camaro as we do. Nor, should we limit the event to the same side of the country.

The problem with the south is we can't hold it in the summer. So that means less families can attend, and the massive following we have in the NE United States will have a long trip to try and manage during the school year.

Same goes for any fest we hold in the NE. Our massive southern following has to make a long trip. And there are so many major enthusiast shows in that part of the country during the summer that it's hard to find a date that works for the track, sponsors, and GM.

We are at a disadvantage in that we don't have a regular date for the fest... The trade off is we go to a different track and a different part of the county each year making sure as many people as possible get a chance to attend a Fest. But the complications and extra work that causes us may mean we have to settle in on a two track rotation?

The bad part about changing locations is it's like C5F I all over again... We have to figure every thing out each time... how do we handle the autoX, Car show, how do we do all the administrative stuff. getting a new insurance policy each year in a new state. The cruise is always a NIGHTMARE and we never get to work with the same people twice. We get a little better each Fest but the next Fest always throws a curve ball at us that we didn't see.

And we don't have Moderators in every part of the country to visit tracks and who have the time to organize an event like this locally...

I know the members would be willing to help us but I also know that Tran will expect us to do the leg work which we are happy to do.

So having said AAAALLLLL that... We have a list of about 3 geographical areas, and maybe 5 or so tracks that we are starting to talk to.

And there is more than one state in the central united states.

I'm not trying to sway any one's opinions or give any hidden clues. I just want everyone to know that we really give this a lot of thought. We wasted a lot of time on Fest II trying to get Vegas... Thank God Phoenix was willing to work with us relatively last minute to get it together.

I wrote all this just to give you all a little insight as to what we think about when making this decision.

Please don't think we're asking for a pat on the back or any pity.

I can't begin to express to you that the best gratitude we can get from you guys is the looks on your faces and hearing the stories that you all tell...

I am on your side as long as you agree with me

The traveling C5FEST is a logistical nightmare. You guys are crazy to take this on every year. I for one, deeply appreciate your combined efforts.

I will support C5FEST IV regardless of the location. Of course if you pick Texas I'll be supporting you with a TEXAS size smile

If we don't have sponsors like Pedders, ARH, Adams, Lingenfelter and Rodgers Chevrolet helping us out with the big stuff....

It would never be the event it is
