I would bet that the majority of "bone stock" SSs are running (unknowingly) on the low octane spark table too, aside from the subject of driver skill level... A factor that is often not considered in many cases of bone stock versus bone stock discussions.

You do realize the weight between the subject car and the Camaro is 250+ lbs right? Pretty similar difference between the 5.0 and the SS.

So yes, the Camaro is heavy, but not THAT heavy. You talk like there is no difference.

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Challenger is also a much bigger car with usable back seats. You can see where the extra 250lbs of weight goes.

I have down right raped every 6.1 srt8 I have raced... at the track and else were. I have only seen one guy actually make some solid passes in a 6.1 with a intake, we were at rt66 and he was pulling 13.0s, the car was a manual too. driving has allot to do with it but a ls3 car has the 6.1 all the way. But those 13 flats that guy was running was very solid and I am sure would have killed some SS guys that day.

Wierd, as the manuals are usually the slower Challengers. A lot have hit high 12s stock BTW.

Ya I know, some have... just like some have ran mid 12s in a stock SS, some ls1 cars have hit high 12s, and some stangs have hit 12.3... but its not the norm for ANY of them. Most people just dont know how to run that fast in a stock car... thats why you see so many guys running mid to low 13s in almost all of them! these threads are pretty pointless, all it takes is a good tree in a heads up race and anyone of them can go down.

Just at the C5 fest I was cutting .02-6 lights all friday and was betting faster cars because of it. My manual trans racing skills are lacking but I do ok, I seen a couple bolton cars running 14s... does it really matter if your SS is a tenth faster then a srt8 if you cant drive anyway... or that the SS is a tenth slower then some guys 5.0, these cars run so close together its all on the driver.
