I just did the fuse pull about three weeks ago and did it again yesterday because I was noticing some power loss (300 miles). I put nothing but 91 oct premium in the tank. That's the highest I can find where I live. Is there something else we can dump in the tank to improve the octane level. Jet fuel or rocket fuel ?

Higgs, one more question, and I'll quit bugging you...lol....From your posts I have a better understanding of things...and put my mind at ease that this octane/map isn't completely evil...lol

But doing a layman's fuse-pull (from time to time)...do you really think that in itself could cause some engine damage, from being too high of timing or whatever...or is it something we can do periodically just for fun?...Thanks again, Tom

I doubt you will cause engine damage. but hey, anything is possible! you would probably need to leave it on the high table for a while, each time you pull the fuses it starts learning down again anyway.

Thanks for the link. Is there something like an octane boost you can buy in a quart. For example, for every ten gallons of 91 I put in, I can add something to boost the octane to the 93/94 level. Do they make anything like this that can be added to a tank of gas ?

They do but I've never used any so I can't really comment one way or the other.

Sorry about getting off topic. I'm just trying to see if there is a way to maintain the high octane table at its fullest without pulling the fuses so much, and without getting a tune.

Yes, Torco works. If using an additive, use this.
