Help me plan out a build for my car...
So my goal is 500-550 RWHP. As far as modifications I plan on doing Headers, CAI, and a Tune. Right now I'm still trying to look at if I should do either a Cam or a Supercharger. Need some input and advice. Keep in mind this would be my daily driver. And maybe down the track maybe once or twice out of the month
I hear its completely plausible to get those numbers with a big enough Cam but my driveability would suffer as well as mpg. But man that cam lope sounds absolutely amazing. As far as a supercharger goes I was actually thinking I would go with the TVS2300 till i heard that for the numbers I'm looking at I may actually have to detune my car to get numbers that low. But the thought of not having driveablity or mpg suffer as much is a definite plus. That and the whine of the supercharger is music to the ears. Any advice would be greatly appreciated from my camaro family. Also Any safeguards i should implement to keep the longivity of my car. |

Why not consider turbo if you are concerned so much with mpg and driveability?

Bolting on a Maggie with no supporting mods will get you to 500 with an l99 and around 525 with an LS3. You will have no driveability issues and your mileage will be pretty good depending on how much you romp on it. You will have much better low end torque with the blower, which is more fun on the street IMO.

Bolt on a maggie and you best swap out some rear trailing arms, sways and bushings. Worthless if you can't put any of the new power to the ground. Throw more into the mix and you might be finding yourself in need of new axles as well.
You will also need a good catch can for a FI setup. There are no real safeguards bolting a maggie onto a stock engine. Nothing in it is forged so just be prepared for things that can and will break. |

yea, your goal and question is super common.
Go to the tech section and read up. Hundreds of people have had the same goal and this question has been answered. Don't need to reinvent the wheel.

Unless you're bolting up some drag radials you will be fine on the stock suspension. Although I have some things to add this spring, I have been driving mine on the stock suspension since the end of august with 650rwhp. Not once have I had wheel hop issues on the street. When you take it to the track and get rough with it is when you will start finding the weak spots and having wheel hop issues.
