The STi is way more fun than the Camaro the Camaro is a beast no doubt, but nothing says fun like a 400hp AWD rocket with attitude!

its not about winning, your opinion is just that your opinion , you said out of the box track ready but if you look at the times the camaro is faster. they chose this track not because of the straight but because how balanced it is....

What ever you say dude. I'll still with the Nring results and you stick with your track and we can just agree to disagree.

I back JHall all the way. Want a real test... American Muscle a.k.a. Camaro (primarily a drag car) vs EVO any gen on a Rally Circut.... Just saying. I love both for their applications. Most people underestimate the little 2.0's but they really are no joke. Of all the cars to line up with, I fear EVO's and WRX/STI's the most.... why?... they flat out hook and book and $hit and get. However, I have more fun day to day in my Camaro.

I have owned both and I'm telling you my Evo VIII stock was faster 0 to 60 than my 2012 SS was stock and in addition it matched a 4th Gen SS up to 160 nose to nose. I don't think the 4th gen was stock because I don't think their governor lets them go 160. Evos are no joke.
A good driver can easily get the SS to 0-60 in 4.6 i mean 426hp and 420lbtq is pretty high numbers stock and is very capable of those numbers. I'm not saying the evos are bad cars i actually want one along with my other vehicles.

Too funny my last car was a WRX. Also you can get a WRX non sti and very easily make it as fast or faster than a stock EVO and Sti. The handling on AWD cars is far superior in the curves and dirt than RWD. Drag race or high speed oval.. RWD FTW!

But Camaro vs EVO is not apple's to apple's. To very different cars for very different sports. Rally and Drag!!

Now go enjoy your Evo killing 4th gen... or you can see how it holds up to my 5th Gen?

I really like the Evo's and STI's, but on the road course my stock SS passes stock Evo's and STI's like their standing still. I think the Car and Driver Lightning Laps times are credible.

Stock evo? Stock sti? What are those?

When I see those cars at the track I don't know if they're running in the novice class or whooping on advanced cars until they get out there. It's too easy to make those things fast to keep them stock.

I searched and could never find any info for the 7:57 for the EVO x just the time listed.
The 7:55 for the sti was Tommi Makinen driving a factory tuned/moded sti but it was not *stock*
Oh and the 8:11 for EVO ix was not the US spec car iirc it was the euro or Japan version.

That's when those cars were truly amazing for their time.

The STi has always been the better everyday driver car. I have driven the EVO X, the 04 STi, and a 12 STi. I can say that the EVO has way more lag, that's just down to the 2.0 vs 2.5, no real way to overcome that.
