Orrrrrr the GT500 just could not drive. Even so, it depends on what the GT500 had done to it. We do not know. Even if it was a perfect run, a stock GT500 up against a Camaro with those many mods, and a ("150 shot" corrected from a "200' shot) would still lose. A better race would be compare GarageLogic GT500 to this car. A modded GT500 (KB BLower swap) with a driver that can actually drive. Its funny how some avoid his vid of his run....I guess its a Jedi mind trick.... |

I agree that the GT500 owner wasn't a great driver though. Anyone doubting a GT500 is crazy! |

the best way to guage is total dollars spent to go fast! (and use two competant drivers)
anyone come up with a formula for a ratio? |

What is the altitude of that track?! I would expect better then a 120mph trap out of a true 200 wheel shot.

I've not had a chance to get it to the track yet this year, but I'm shooting for low-10's on the drag radials. I'm going to throw some unleaded race gas in it and go down from the 2 7/8" to the 2 3/4" pulley. If that doesn't get me there, some 116 leaded and the 2.5" pulley should. |

Mustang forums are boring and un-informative. These forums are much better.

The best time I have on video in the car is the 11.18 run back last September. Did you happen to catch when my last post was in the thread you linked to? 9/13/08. You have already pointed out that I rarely visit that site, so it only make sense that my signature on the forum is out-of-date. If you waste some more of your time looking at other forums where I rarely visit, you might find the exact same information. While the car did run a 10.76 later in the year, I do not have video of that pass. I do, however, have a timeslip somewhere and will be happy to scan it for you once I dig it up. I guess if your someone who does not often frequent the drag strip, you might not understand that air temps play a huge factor in getting a good ET/MPH, especially on a supercharged car. For those that do know what they are talking about, they will tell you that even the slower 129mph trap speed that has already been documented is more than enough power to get the car well into the 10’s. 10.76 is not some pie-in-the-sky number created out of thin air. As for trying to catch me in a lie, try again. The question that was asked was, “What mods did you have to do to get that kind of hp?” not “What mods did you have to do to get that kind of time?” If you will read the mod list, instead of coming on here and suggesting that I am somehow making things up, the only modification to the car that influenced its power output is the KB swap. Everything else that has been done to the car was cosmetic, done to help get the power to the ground effectively or to reduce the effects of heat soak. And, yes, I do very much enjoy this forum. ![]() Just trying to keep the thread honest to those that were originally interested in the thread for "New 2010 Camaro 1/4 Mile Record - 11.549 @ 120.6 (now 11.29) " that turned into another "my GT500 is better" thread.

As for the modification list, I think you've already covered everything that has been done to the car. ![]() To the OP, I do apologize for my part in taking this thread way of topic. I, too, am interested in seeing and documenting the kinds of times the Gen5 is putting down and how the owners are getting there. I even started a thread awhile back to help centralize the data, but somehow it got merged with another thread with a similar intent and now it's just confusing to try and keep up with. (Thanks, mods! )
