Couple purchasing questions.

I'd like to pick a SS2 RS up in June of next year and am wondering when the latest time to order would be before they switch to the 2011's?

Also I'm sure that it's been answered in here already but what do most dealers want put down when placing a order? Are they wanting the whole amount or just a portion?

I expect that (if the ordering frenzy dies down) if I order in early to mid April that I should be able to get it some time in June, any thoughts on that?

Well, since the 2010 started production last March. I assume that when the 2011 will start, March of next year! As for ordering April and getting it by June, that's hard to say. I ordered in March and just got mine last week. I'd say order it ASAP and hope it comes soon.

Gotcha. I figured that the "when will it arrive" question was going to be pretty hard to answer. I'm going to give my local dealership a call today and see if they can give me an exact order by date. I'm holding off as of right now because I want to put as big of a down payment on it as possible. Thanks for the help .

The March production start for the "2010" was unique to the early introduction. I expect that you will still be able to order a 2010 in April of 2010 and obtain delivery for your Jume timeframe. The pent up demand will be caught up by that time and the system will be running much smoother.

Thanks . I just got off the phone with 2 local dealers, both said that I will be able to order a 2010 in April. However each of them varied drastically when it came to the amount to be put down upon ordering. Dealership #1 said around $5,000, dealership #2 said $500 would be sufficient, lol.

Anyways thanks again for the info. Now I've got to decide if I want to get black or infero orange... . Both will have the RS package, have Cyber Grey rally stripping, and have the interior accent trim package. I'm thinking that the black with the inferno colored seats and possibly an inferno colored engine cover might look sweet, but that orange by itself holds it's own. Well this problem is mine to figure out. Thanks again, this is a great board .

Unless you want some really specific combo of options I would assume you can walk right in and purchase one this time next year. Does that make sense or am I way off. Eventually the ordering should die down enough and dealers will be ordering to have lot cars and not just customer orders. If you do order one a lot of people put $500 down i put $1000 it really shouldn't be more than that. Unless your comfortable with dealer and you want to put more down cause you might spend it or something like that. if you order and make deposit just get everything in writing.

i kind of think 2010's will run into next year. You wont see 2011's till next fall.

Alright, I'm looking for a pretty specific package to me anyways so I'm not sure if they will have it. If they have one that matches then great if not I'll probably have to order. As of right now (color is pending, black or IOM) it'll be an SS2/RS, 6SPDM, Cyber Gray Metallic Rally Stripes, Interior Accent Trim Package, Sunroof, Gray car cover, and if they can do it Inferno Orange Metallic Engine Cover. I'll make sure to get the order/deposit if that is the route I go in writing. Thanks .

Thats a popular choice of options I would imagine you can find that car, the stripes and car cover can be applied afterwards anyway.

I'm kind of shooting for the stripping to by done by the manufacturer as opposed to the dealer but I could sway there. And as far as the car cover goes that's just a regular car cover right, I mean it's fit for the Camaro's body but it's just a car cover right?

GM normally shuts down all plants 1st week of July for 2 weeks to change over to the next MY. My bet is they will stop taking '10 orders at this time.

If he were closer to me man I'd be there in a sec . Contacting a few more dealerships tomorrow, the $ has been approved so it's a pick and choose game now.
