And the constant here is that if it's the weather conditions inhibiting our cars then it seems to be hitting our cars WAY worse than other cars. Quote:

Sorry, I haven't read through all the posts in this thread but have you ran it at the track? If so what are your times?

WOW, I must not have read everything either.... 2 to 3 seconds is well past just weather and driver. Maybe it is just some of the early VIN cars or something.... I'm really not sure what would be up to be losing like that to some of those other cars.
I'm a bit at a loss if you are 2-3 seconds off, I thought we were talking one second. I stand corrected. Bryan |

To recap a little here is the vid I posted before. This was my best time at the time of the vid. I've lately gotten a little better. I timed it 20 times with a stopwatch and got 6.1 of an average. (with a quick finger) Quote:

I would really like to see what it does on the track. It would be good if another member could run against you in time trials to see the difference.

For those that have dynoed the L99, what gear are you using as the 1:1

The tuner used 4th gear. He said it was the closest to 1:1 he could get. Or something like that. But I know he used 4th.

1. Because I don't believe enough people are saying anything to anyone about it. 2. Because very few people are even testing their cars. It's a really strong engine. Strong enough that 99% of L99 owners will be happy with the 'feeling' of power. Most racing enthusiasts will buy the Standard, and the rest will mod anyway. There are VERY few L99s that will be tested and dynoed and even fewer who will have a problem and even FEWER who will bring it to light. If you sell 20,000 Camaros and let's say only 8000 of them are Autos and you concentrate only on the Autos, then you've allready gotten rid of the big majority of 'racing' guys. Now you take what you have left (8000) and let's just say 2000 of those guys are racing guy who would even notice a problem. Now let's say half of those guys will mod the car anyway. (or just tune it.) Now you have 1000 cars. Now lets say only 50 of those cars have a problem at all. (I suspect it would be more than 5% but this is just an example) So now out of the 50 cars, how many will notice a problem? Let's just say 5 out of 50. So now you have 5 people out of 20,000 with Camaros who have the same problem and are pissed. Of those 5 maybe one or two just say to hell with it and deal with it, or get a tune or persue other means of dealing with it. And now you're down to 3. Well? NO STORY HERE. 3 out of 20,000 is not something GM worries about, nor do the magazines and other publications. The key here is most guys who will EVER even notice a problem will be moding anyway. The rest won't even notice. And BTW, at least we've got people noticing and testing. Obviously my numbers will be way off. But that's the type of tricle down that happens and why IMO, this is a non-story, and will go unreported. Also it's why someone has to say something, somewhere. I don't want it reported in a magazine anyway. Now I've spoken at length to some of our members and mods. Namely Junkie and Spike. They are of the impression that my car will 'Wake Up' the more I pound on it. I'm still persuing the TAC avenue through my dealer. But in the meantime I'll be keeping a close eye on my car. Mine is faster than Scotts. If they don't do anything for him then I don't have a snoballs chance in hell with them. It would be a principle case at that point. IF my car doesn't improve. No, a stopwatch, iPhone, G-Tech etc. are not official data and can be way off. But you can't tell me I can't get at least within .3 of a second by video recording the run and putting a stopwatch to it 20 times and come up with an average. It WILL be within .3 second. That's a pretty big time differential. Considering I have done times like this in the 7 second range, It's good enough. |

Dang dude. I typed a small book and that's all you got for me?
![]() I'll call today and see when open lanes are available. But if I do go soon and get crappy times, people will just say the same thing they've been saying. But I'll make a trip soon and it will be called "PQs Trip to the Track" sponsored by CamaroSpike23 (I'll take care of the sponsorship fee )But you gotta tell me what the acceptable time range should be. |

I live in MS. I bought the yellow SS that came in the week before yours. I hammered mine from day one and checked it with G-Tech a few weeks ago and got 2 runs 0-60 of 5.3 seconds. It only has 1200 miles on it but it has not been babied. Still learning the best way for me to launch the car. From a dead stop without power braking it will spin the tires. Whats up with Bay Chev. Keep telling you to come back. I hope they get yours fixed.
