No. GMC is still around.

And it's Denali.

I never got to experience Pontiac's Glory Days...I'm not old enough. Even in the late '90s, early '00, I would have rather had a Camaro than a Firebird...

So...no, I can't say I will mourn the brand. The only two cars I'd miss are the G8 and Solstice. But I'm sure they'll live on in another brand some day...

The 67 GTO was a badass car IMHO and I wish they would have did a retro on it. I also thought they would do a retro of the "Bandit" which would have been pretty sweet also.

You missed the good stuff my friend. Everything came with a V-8 and gas was 60 cents per gallon. GM was famous for offering multiple motors, suspension packages, etc. You could really customize your ride..."back in the day".

I know it. I've often wondered if I'd rather live back then or today....still haven't decided.

Back then. When people were still loyal to their country's companies and committed to supporting their economy.

Yeah...but I like the cars, and technology too much today...if only we can have a bit of both. Then Pontiac may not be dead...:(

Very true. It is still great to land at Detroit Airport and see 8 out of 10 cars milling about be American. In AZ, its about 8 out of 10 are imports

3 years ago I wouldn't have given Pontiac a second thought. They finally get their $h1t together and start making some truly focused great cars THEN they close. I guess every baseball player dreams of getting a home run on their last at-bat before retiring.

I miss the Pontiac of about 1960-1974. And I missed that pontiac even when they were still in business. Which is probably why they went out of business.

You can't have the slogan 'Driving Excitment' and do everything in your power to ignore and/or destroy any sense of excitement for 30 years and expect to stay in business.

The G8 and Solstice were awesome, but a case of much too little, WAY too late. Hopefully their genes will get passed on to something in the General's army, though.
