The Hellcat may break this trend, but I wouldn't touch a Chrysler vehicle until their quality is proven by the data. I don't care how fast it is.

It sure is funny when facts like these are posted dodge fans seem to not comment on it.

Same thing happens when asked to show a copy of the warranty that won't be voided for racing. Crickets.

Or the reliability report from JD Power. But did you hear it has 707 hp? And it is NHRA certified?

Damn, that last part sounded like a troll lol.

My '13 Ram has been hands down better than my dad's '13 Silverado. He has had a few issues from leaking oil, radio not working etc. (nickel and dime shit mainly)

Only reason my truck has gone back to the dealer is that i got free oil changes and they installed a trailer brake controller for it.

I was not a chrysler guy (well i do love my wranglers) but this Ram imo blew away both the GM and Ford and 2 years 25k miles - not one complaint.

Id say quality is pretty damn good. And this truck does pull a car trailer a few weekends a year. Also pulled a boat and moved both my nephew and niece into college.

I have no reason to think the Hellcat will have crap quality. In fact it just sounds like sour grapes

Just because you have had a different experience doesn't throw all the overwhelming data out of the window.

Sour grapes? Nah. I'm no fanboy. This is the first Chevy I've ever had. My last three vehicles before the ZL1 were: 2006 BMW M3, 2008 BMW M3 sedan, 2012 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Premium Coupe. I loved them all, but this ZL1 is even more well rounded and complete than my M3's. It is plenty fast enough for me. I picked it over the Shelby, which is still faster than the Hellcat.

As far as Chrysler quality, I've heard it said that "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over yet expecting a different outcome". I guess that is why both Chrysler #2 and Dodge #3 have two of the worst customer retention rates in the industry.

I have a 2003 Silverado I have used for a work truck about 10 years now it only has 252k on it and I still wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere in the country and my guys know how to beat them up.

Before my dad got his silverado he had a 97 suburban. Just under 200k and that thing was abused.

Im not bashing Chevy but i really believe Fiat has turned around Chrysler.
Still too early to tell.

But i think dismissing a Hellcat because it is a Dodge is just silly.

My only wish was that SRT Dodge was more interested in building a more all around cruiser like the zl1 and gt500. still 1/4 mile is king around here.

There is something counterintuitive about believing that after the Germans gave up, the Italians can fix Crysler. The Hellcat should not be dismissed but I also wouldn't be the first in line to buy one (if I were so inclined).

The ZL1 has proven durability with a chassis and drivetrain that can stand up to power increases well over 700. A lot of development dollars were spent there that don't appear to have been matched on the HC.

I hope Chrysler/Dodge have turned it around and the HC is bullet proof. We all need that.

They did spend 35 percent more time in the wind tunnel with the Hellcat then the previous SRT Challenger.

"Dodge and SRT designers and engineers spent 35 percent more time in the Chrysler Group’s full-scale wind tunnel in Auburn Hills, Michigan, (compared with the previous-generation Dodge Challenger SRT)"

Pictures were not permitted so here is an artists rendition of the testing.

Amen bro!
My Ram Daytona 1500 is 9 years old. Bought it brand new and still running great. I love that truck. I did have an EVAP problem, which is common with the Rams, but other than that, the truck is the balls.
Will beat most Ford and Chevy trucks still to this day too with 71k on the clock.
Oh,....and it rides much smoother than the Ford and the Chevy on top of it all.

The only problem I have is you are comparing Dodge trucks to a car in terms of reliability. Not very accurate is it? I am glad that they were taken over and are producing better product now.

I don't think GM will come out with a gen 6 Camaro with a dyno sheet that can top the hellcat but I suspect the next ZL1 will be lighter and may have few more ponies than the current model so it will be more competitive in a straight line and will definitely beat it around a corner. GM owners will just have to rely on the plethora of aftermarket parts readily available to drown the kitty if they so chose.
