I would hate to see how long it takes them to fix an issue that isn't well known.

Did same thing to me
They don't car. Fm blames the dealer who blames gm
Ghetto backyard sales tactics
Ghetto Man sales. They are horrible

IMHO

Still falls back to every dealer/service rep. is different, if you complain high enough on the food chain someone is sure to HAVE TO listen, question then is do you want the guys who just got their a$$es reemed working on your car?

Catch 22?

i have spotted a used 2013 ZL1 for sale at a dodge dealership near me. It only has 2K miles on it and wants 45K, but I'm really weary of buying it and then not being able to find a dealer to fix the SC rattle issue. Especially since I did not buy it from a Chevy dealer. I know dealerships are supposed to honor warranty work but i have always had trouble getting warranty work done in the past..

Another thing is what if it doesn't rattle at first? but later on down the road after i mod it and tune it? they could just say my modding caused the rattle and not honor warranty.

If you're going to mod it and tune it, that will most likely void the engine warranty including the supercharger.

BUT, the main reason for the SC issue is the stock spring loaded coupler in the SC, when you mod it, just have the stock coupler replaced with a solid one.

If your going to spend 45, why not spend 48 instead and get a brand new one with the 20% off msrp deals there having now?
Problem solved, no supercharger to replace...

Take it to a different dealer. This was a known issue that happens on stock vehicles as well as modified ones. You could bring up Magnuson-Moss Act, but check around with other dealers in (or out of) your area till you find one thats willing to work with you. They are out there.

Even this supercharger replacement, again overplayed! All's you need is a replacement isolater for craps sake.
These motors have more then prove themselves, moding them just takes an already awesome engine to a higher level of awesomeness.
That's how I see it anyways.

Part of the reason for replacing the entire supercharger is that it is an assembled unit from Eaton, not GM. and I would be willing to bet that their warranty/coverage is such that they pull the entire unit to send to Eaton for work/repair/inspection instead of letting GM do the work.
It covers GM's ass in the event that something gets damaged by GM during repairs.

Don't blame GM for a crappy dealer. I do agree with you for pushing to get them to buy back your car, just gotta make sure you are complaining enough to the right people.
I would imagine the dealership will do what they can to prevent them having to buy it back, so go around them.

wouldn't be nice to go and buy a new car that didn't have issues the last four new cars I bought all had some kind of problem. I was hoping the ZL/1 would be better but it's not rear is making noise and I can only look forward to SC rattle.
