Not that you shouldn't try your idea, but this definitely calls to one of the recent threads about the 4.6L LFX stroker kit... for the trucks equipped with the LFX.
Just have to say this: Would rather be blown than stroked.

I feel the cams that are in these can be fed more air naturally and make more power. I'm not suggesting huge gains from it but I think there's a lot yet to be discovered. Just looking to help us all make more power and feed the addiction we all seem to suffer from lol

I've done some porting work in the past on older SBC and LS engines. That's why I mentioned on finding a spare LFX manifold to open up and take a look inside on how its designed and improve on it. I would really like to see if it's possible to get rid of the immediate turn the air takes after the TB. That would help with response and overall performance.
I've actually broken open an LFX intake manifold. Let me tell you, they are pretty damn tough too! The inside of the LFX intake is is leaps and bounds better than the LLT intake manifold. With the exception of the inlet where the TB bolts on, there is very little that needs to be touched on the LFX intake. This isn't the best picture (not shown 100% finished, I keep meaning to take more pics before they go out the door, but forget/don't have time), but this is typically what I do on the inlet for people:

This modification makes a noticeable difference in power that you can FEEL, as well as looks good on the dyno.

What about blown and stroked?

I've already cut out the baffle directly behind the Throttle body. It did make a noticeable difference in power from mid range and up. Next would be filling in the cavity that apparently is supposed to catch excess oil from the PCV system. If I ever get my hands on another motor I'll definitely be pulling the heads and porting them to whatever I decide to do with the engine.

They can be had for $900-$1400 used. I looked into it and they aren't that bad.
