LLT intake mainfold

Just a quick question guys, can the LLT manifold fit the LFX directly?

It can be adapted, but I don't think there is any performance gain to be had from it what so ever... Looks is the only think it would enhance.

I put one on my car for a couple weeks and deemed the LFX intake to perform better.

Mods needed to mount it are:
-1" thick spacer/adapter underneath the intake
-Have to grind/cut off a section that sticks out (useless section, a wire look clip plugs into it) (this could possible be avoided with a 1.5 or 2" thick spacer/adapter)
-the plenum cover must be modified to accept the LFX map sensor

Ok. Was just wondering if it could be done and if it's worth anything. But ill stay with my lfx manifold and mess with it. Would really like to find a spare one to try and pull apart to look at how the air travels.

I have a spare LLT Manifold on the shelf. I started to port it for a client, but then the client moved. Id say it 50% ported. Let me know if you want it. $155 shipped using paypal
Thanks
Phil

I'm just looking to see how well these engines really breathe with a proper plenum instead of the crossover design that they have.

Just wondering ? What do you consider a proper plenum ? Are you an Engineer ?

The longer runners help the lack of low end torque, take those out it will move the torque band deep into the 6000 range, possibly the 7000.

Id say if you are going to take off the LLT manifold, add the ICELATOR spacer to it

OP, if you are looking for the best performance from an intake, your best bet is a "ported" LFX intake whom I think you can still get from Jason@JacFab (posted above)

Airflow testing and performance has been done across the range from stock LLT and LFX, to ported LLT and modified LFX intakes, and based on what we've seen the modified LFX intake is the winner.

Not an engineer, only a DIY guy looking to improve the airflow of this platform. After pulling the TB off and having a look at what happens to airflow after it opened up the possibility of trying to figure out how to get these engines to breathe properly. I've done some porting work in the past on older SBC and LS engines. That's why I mentioned on finding a spare LFX manifold to open up and take a look inside on how its designed and improve on it. I would really like to see if it's possible to get rid of the immediate turn the air takes after the TB. That would help with response and overall performance.

This is what you should expect. If you want power, regrind the cams and increase the displacement or push some boost.

Not that you shouldn't try your idea, but this definitely calls to one of the recent threads about the 4.6L LFX stroker kit... for the trucks equipped with the LFX.
