It sure looks like it moved.
The weekend before, but not for the intro. :(

Ok so for further discuzzion and opioneering in The House..............

What would you think if the next Z/28 differentiator was AWD?

GM just announced a new AWD system for the CT6 which is more than capable of V8 levels of torque. I'm actually surprised no one is making much of that announcement.

So what if GM put a performance oriented AWD system in the Z/28?

Too far from the historic legacy of the Z?

Or a track focused improvement to make the Z even more track competitive with the GTR and 911?

Discuzz

If they follow the C7 Z06 route then they've deviated enough that it doesn't really matter at that point. If they develop a new LTx n/a engine for it, I don't think it needs an AWD yet.

Don't think they should leave anything off the table to compete and be faster/better. But I don't think AWD is necessary to do that. Think it would require too much re-engineering...and deviate away from what a Camaro (forget individual models) is.

Now.....want to make an ATS-V with AWD? DOOOOO IIIIITTTTT

AWD is not wanted or needed for a track car. First, it's far more rewarding to drive a RWD car. Second, AWD adds weight -- and the new Camaro needs to really cut the lard...

My thoughts are that if you use the same engine and drive train the Z/28 simply becomes the little brother to the Z06. Performance AWD would make it different.

Is Ford waiting for TEAM Camaro to unveil the new 6th Gen before they release the Ring video? You heard it here first.

I'm not saying it is. My point was if the next gdn Z/28 came with the LT4, automatic and convertible, it's so far off the mark putting in AWD wouldn't matter at that point.

I doubt Ford will release a Ring video. They haven't for any other cars. Why start now?

Ford has jumped in front of a number of GM product releases over the last few years. Trotting out the new Lincoln the day before the CT6 is the most recent. I am saying Ford will release the GT350 Ring video a day or two before TEAM Camaro debuts the 6th Gen.

Why would that be off the mark? If it was built for, and does well on the track (as was the purpose of the original), does it matter in what configuration it does it?

I'll bet they don't because they couldn't beat the Z/28's time.

But then GM will just release the video of the Z/28 in the dry.

I think GM is just holding that back for if or when Ford tries to out do the Z.
