Ok. For a few weeks now everyone on this site has been going on about shunt? I have no idea what it is. Can someone let this poor girl into the know?

I think Shunt was a user who kept pestering fbodather about the pre-pro headlights and said something to the effect of not understanding why those were being used to test the cars. I think it got so out of hand that he was banned from the site. Then there were some spy pic of the interior and there was a post-it on the steering wheel that said "SHUNT in the trunk". Users where saying that was Shunt. SHUNT is some sort of electrical term I think. It was funny when that came out.

Some say he was picked up by Suburbans. I say he's locked up by some GM execs and looks like the gimp from Pulp Fiction.

A shunt is an electrical component that if I'm not mistaken helps redirect the flow of current if some circuit is overloaded. In any case when the above spy-photo of the interior was posted most of the people here were unaware as to what it was and it became a joke that "Shunt" was a guy that asked FBodFather about the pre-pro headlights 1 time too many and was "taken care of". That sign is to remind the testing engineers not to freak out when they hear screams coming from the trunk!

I asked this same question before...I believe I was told it was the guy who was stuck in the trunk in the movie Goodfellows. If you remember the movies, he was the one that was brutally stabbed. Someone else want to confirm this?

Cliffs notes on the Shunt saga:

1. Many, many people complained about the headlights, and Scott (aka Fbodfather), who works at GM and has been involved with Camaro design and production in various capacities for 30 years, was getting tired of having to explain to people that the headlights on the preproduction models were off the Auto Zone shelf and hot glued in just for testing. They were not the real headlights, thus the very first hint of things to come was the creation of this smiley: :notheadlights:

2. The spy photo you see above posted by blackZbandit surfaced. That sticker is to remind any of the various engineers driving this test car that the guy is in the trunk - oh, I mean, there is an electronic protection circuit in the trunk. Yeah, that's right, an electronics circuit. Uh, yeah

3. People put two and two together, and realized that Shunt was missing..... oh, I mean, this thread was started: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4221

Now Shunt is more famous after his dissappearance than he ever was before!
