I know it sounds lame.
But scouting is good and sticks with a person forever whether it be Boy or Girl Scouts. Local council finder by zip code http://www.girlscouts.org/councilfinder/ Opportunities in Girl Scouting http://www.girlscouts.org/program/pr...opportunities/ lots of cool stuff to do http://www.girlscouts.org/program/journeys/ for her age group http://www.girlscouts.org/program/gs...s_gs/11_17.asp Girl Scout Promise and Law http://www.girlscouts.org/program/gs...aw/default.asp

Yep, get her involved in scouting or other extracurricular activities like sports or drama club. The friends she meets there will be interested in other things besides partying.

I told my wife we need to get her back to church. I am very upset that my wife let her quit going 2 years ago. Jackie say she is not Catholic and does not care to be one. Well she was baptised and had communion. If it was up to me she would of been and still would be going to church with us until she moved out of our house.

i grew up catholic and was enrolled in communion classes ect ect went to catholic private highschool. but i dont like being forced to go to church and pray. i pray when i feel it is right to pray and not every sunday in church. imo you can worship the lord from wherever you please. back to the matter, just punish her hard....it works most of the time. |

As a teenager myself, I say ground her. Take away her car, the phone and restrict her privileges. She will hate it now, but in the end, she will thank you. I did stupid stuff in high school. Nip it in the bud now before it gets worse. She may feel that Stephanie is getting more attention and she could feel left out. Try doing a father-daughter day and do something she likes to do. My dad and I went on a four day trip to pick up the camaro. It is some of the most fun I have had. If she likes the car take her on a trip to see some landmark that she hasn't seen. It does go against the beginning of this post, but make her feel special and show her that she is still cared about. Don't give up.

Well this is a loose loose for you. Sorry, its just that way. I always laughed at the whole "parents, be strict on your kids" campaign because it would just prompt me to do more and more. It is like a game, im going to do what i want and the harder you try to stop me the more im going to enjoy doing it.
You cant stop her from doing it, but you can make her see what that road leads to. I know a guy who brought his kid into our local jail regularly to see what drugs and crime led too. I think he even left his son in jail for a couple of days after he was caught with alcohol on school property. Sounds drastic, but in the long run its not going to change anything... she will either get your message or not. My personal suggestion is talk to her about it, let her know that we have all been there but let her know that people die from drunk driving and smoking every year. Stop her from smoking, thats the big one. Personally I promised myself that i'd never smoke anything and I held that promise... but drinking went on. Few years back a buddy in my social circle (high school) died in a drunk driving crash. After that the parents of all the kids vowed to play DD for their sons/daughters. My dad picked me up from places we hung out at if we'd been drinking, or if i had people over to my own house their parents did the same. It effectively solved the problem, and with the drinking being so open with my parents it reduced the urge to go overboard... it made everything more normal. No one got hurt again. |

especially on his first post in the site. i understand he needs to stick to his beliefs but like TJ, and Tac, and Countach say, many people have friendships on here and we understand each other. its just a small joke. Ok, enough of the arguing about the maturity, back to the helping Scott
