I don't know if people just don't know, or not willing to share because of liability. Google for air bag simulators. Somebody made a device to fool the SIR/SDM in thinking the air bags were still in place. I've yet to hear whether that worked on the 5thG Camaro though.

When I Google I don't find any solid answers. Just maybe's and try this. I'm not out to mess my car up just want to get rid of these worthless seats.

Don't know if its an option for you, but if you could pick up some Recaros out of a Camaro, you could keep the airbags. I really like the Recaros.
