Ok, so I picked up the BEAST today....... WOW! is all I can say. But my dealer said he just got notice today that GM was going to suspend SS production. He doesn't know if it is temporarily or what. Anybody heard this or have any knowledge of what he was talking about?

BTW did I mention that my car is a BEAST!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!

Heard this from my dealer also, said 6 cylinder sales was slow, cause everybody wants SS.

This rumor is getting worse. I heard SS production is stopped until November.

No they're not stopping production on the SS! They are however constraining the volume of V8's vs. V6's.

GM made an announcement a day or two ago, its on teh site here somewhere, anyway, GM is only reducing the number of SS's so that the number of V6's production numbers can come up to meet that demand.

Lol, well then they should come down on price of the v6's.. but i mean really... people want what they want and i don't think doing this and forcing v6's down peoples throats (not literally) will stop peeps from gett'n v8's...

I look at it as a marketing ploy to keep the demand for SS's high. I'm just glad my order went through finally. If they had done this before my R6P order got pulled I'd be livid.

Do you think it's because of the requirement that the weighted average of gas mileage for all GM's sold cars has to meet some minimum value, and all the SS Camaros are dragging that weighted average down too far?

GM what is wrong w you what did you think was gonna happen of course 80% wants the SS. In these times you need to focus on giving the consumer what they want. If not you might as well drive those left out or delayed longer str8 over to the competitors.

Great, another reason for dealers to keep putting "market adjustments" on the price of the car.

As much as that's a bummer about the V8s, I'm glad they're making an effort of meeting the V6 demand. That makes my chances of getting my 1LT before Thanksgiving
