PM td195f. He runs with a couple of BMW clubs several times a year and is likely going to be there for that one. He'll probably see this anyway. The club only runs the Thunder Road Tour which are paced laps.

As Mark said, I do. Been running for the past several years with GVC BMW in May, June and August and the Delaware Valley Chapter in July. Registered for 4/30 and 5/1 now. Need to register for June this weekend. GVC also added a 4th HPDE event this year 10/1 and 10/2.

Just registered for Saturday and Sunday, June 11th and 12th. I assume you joined but have not registered for the event yet. I didn't see any other Camaros on the entry list.
Don't wait to long to register. These schools will fill up quickly in some run groups. I missed the first event last year because I waited to long to register and ended up on the wait list.
When the event gets closer, get in touch and I will give you some info to prepare and make the event much more enjoyable. Some knowledge / understanding of terminology ahead of time will help.

And yes we track Watkins Glen about 3 times a year. I believe the price is $25 for 3 laps controlled by Pace cars.
Did my registration go ok for joining this upstate group? Also, can you send me info on the Watkins glen outing. Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to the various Camaro events in the Rochester and Buffalo areas.

Info. on the WGI is posted on our calendar. All car show & car cruises are also posted there. I'll have to look on the membership posting. And you can also check it yourself any time. We also have a chapter Upstate C 5 thread for the Buffalo Rochester areas. I just checked the member list. Did you go to page 1 of Upstate C 5 and put the info. required needed?

All the laps are paced? I was under the impression that after some instruction they let you run the course at whatever speeds you were comfortable with. Seems like there aren't many road courses close to Buffalo Rochester area. Just the Glen and NYST. Am I missing some?

It used to be Thunder Road Tour but now it is called Drive the Glen. Details are on their website.
http://www.theglen.com/Guest-Info/Drive-The-Glen.aspx

It is 3 laps paced at 55mph. However this rule is typically stretched for us depending on the pace driver. Cost is $25/3 laps but if there are more than 10 cars cost is $15. This is the only thing the track does that I am aware of, other than renting the track to groups for the schools you are doing. Price sheet I saw in 2010 for rental was weekday 2 day min @$8k/day and weekend 3 day min @$11k/day. For Opening Weekend pace will be closer to 55, because it's a high profile weekend with a lot of people. We'll sign up as a club and be taken separately. There are usually 5-6 clubs plus all the mom & pops minvans rotated in groups. I hope to start at 11:00 and be done around 1:00. Too early at this point for details. This is just a good time for the members to get out after a long winter and re-acquaint. The best on track experience is when we go at other times throughout the season.
Central New York Raceway Park in Hastings is supposed to be open by Labor Day but no idea what they will offer as to on track experience.

Hey quick question guys. Has anyone been out to the LS Candy Shop? They have some decent totaled 5th Gens there. Just wondering how it works, like a pick and pull, or they have specific items pulled already. Link for reference below.

Thunder Road / Drive the glen are paced laps. 3 for $25. The schools like the GVC BMW club event you signed up for is NOT PACED. As fast as you can handle and the instructor in your car will allow. Eventually the instructor will sign you off to go out for some sessions later in a two day school solo. Don't expect this to happen in your first couple of schools.

I know a member's son that bought a spoiler for their firebird there recently. I think they pull them apart and sell parts. They have a website with all available parts. I want that supercharger on FB though!! I think Rallysport2010 would know more...
