Obviously they consider the Camaro as a true "brand" not just another model. I think they want all Camaro nameplates available for the 50th celebration. My guess the Z/28 should be available as a mid 2017.

ZL1 surprise reveal away from an auto show. First spy shots of a Z/28 days before New York.

GM blows the collective auto universe mind by dropping a 50th anniversary Z/28 at New York on Friday.

In a bit of a quandary. I like the Z06, GS and the ZL1. I want a toy, however I don't want to take a huge hit on depreciation. I know when buying a new car that's a given, but in your opinions which would hold value the best? Thanks.

If you aren't super picky on options you'd best be served buying a slightly used model. Some people baby these cars and you might be able to find an "almost as new" similar or the same as how you'd order with the majority of the depreciation already taken out. Especially if buying directly from the owner vs. a dealer. Overlooking the new car factor and putting up with the wait may be worth thousands or tens of thousands to you pocketbook.

True, however there's always the unknown when buying used.

The Camaro has won best retained value awards from Kelly Blue Book repeatedly. And it's bound to be the "cheapest" option of the three, so percentage wise, I would guess that you'll loose less dollars with the ZL1.

My .02.

Good information, Thanks! I really like the ZL1. It looks so much better than the SS IMO. The black rockers really help with the overall shape.

I think as long as you didn't pay sticker you are correct. I think the folks that waited a bit will do just fine. Too many stories of people paying close to $20k off sticker. Your car looks quite Awesome. Hopefully you did well on price.

Ok, here is what I am starting to believe will happen to make a NA Z/28.

Just like GM took the LF3 at 420 HP in the CTS V-Sport and created the wonderful 460+ HP LF4 for the ATS-V I now believe GM will work some magic on the LT1 and give us a 500 HP NA LT2.

We know GM know how to make this happen. Lets hope they do.

So my new version is not necessarily a LT4 powered light weighted ZL1, but more of a 500 HP 1LE.

How's that sound?
