It might be because I'm an auto. Having a stick makes the exhaust sound a lot better and you can control the popping...

This is the first auto I've ever owned. I bought it purely to bracket race otherwise I would've gotten the stick.

I've had my V6 for about 2 and a half years now and overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. Unfortunately I still make the same amount of money as I did when I bought it two or 3 years ago, so getting a "new" V8 is out of the question. My only real buyers remorse is now looking at used SS's with all the bells and whistles I wanted two years ago. Those SS's are now 28k, which is originally how much I started paying for my v6 two years ago. So if I would of saved instead of spent, I could be living the dream of that V8 right now. But on top of this my family life dynamic has changed drastically in the past two years and lets just say I probably couldn't and can't upgrade to a V8 for a very long time, and I am ok with it.
My main purpose for driving this vehicle was for daily driving, and perhaps car shows long down the road. Well only a year and a half in I went to my first casual car show, and from there I was hooked. I now know that I will make my v6 into a show car. My next vehicle purchase / lease will be a truck and a trailer for taking it to shows. However once that is paid off I will probably be in my 40's to 50's, and look at getting a V8 or ZL1/Z28,or 1LE variant, possibly Corvette. As far as day to day, I am very happy with my V6's speed, gas mileage, customization options, and lower insurance. I do wish I would of gotten a 2LT instead of 1LT, but the nice part is that I can add anything I didn't buy stock. That is where alot of the re-occuring fun and love for my V6 comes from. I hang around a bunch of friends with V8, and feel inferior but I am treated as if I have one within our group, and that's what matters more, considering I am the one making the payments. |

dude you dont need to take your car on a trailer to shows. thats just ridiculous.. i have been to many shows all over the place and 99 percent of people drive in.. unless you are going to a barrent jackson show save your money.. the cars i did see on the trailers are cars people that have put what we make in a year into them.. good luck

323 HP and I average 20.8mpg with my driving habits. Who cares how many cylinders it has. I love it. I owned mine for a little under a year before deciding to mod it. Now it's a nasty sounding car. Love it even more. I paid 20K for mine, off the showroom floor last June.

What's with these posts about how us V6 owners feel about our cars? Makes me think some GM big wig is trying to do a marketing survey on V6 Camaro owners or something.lol!
Also, I could never figure out why our fellow V8 owners have so much animosity and bad feelings toward us. It's almost as if they are threatened by us for some reason. If anyone thinks a 3.6L V6 with 323 hp is weak, that's just wrong. Last edited by The_Driver; 05-11-2016 at 07:22 PM. |
