I'd rather drive in a dirty car then go to a Shell Station to get it washed, That really sucks man. I hope they can do something for you.

If you notice I said I didn't advocate that, but if this had happened in a parking lot while unattended he could call in his insurance.

think about it..... damage is on the right side (like when one would park there car along a curb)
u genius.. the car stays still but the spinning brushes still go aroud the sides of the car the full length.... and if i curbed it, how on earth would i have THE EXACTTTTTTT same damage on both tires... when u pull up to a curb uruslaly 1 wheel approaches it first (ur front) ... u cant approach the curb with both tires at the same exact time.... it is not physically possible to have the exact same damage as unique as that is (it looks like an H almost) on 2 different RIMs from curbing it

AND GET THIS>... IM NOT SAYING THE BRUSHES DAMAGED IT... there is a locking mechanism on this car wash that locks the wheels in so it doesnt roll i believe... somehow these things did not attach correctly to the right side im pretty sure... because my left rims are both fine... and only a machine could make the EXACT same type of UNIQUEEEE damage on 2 DIFFERENT rims...

Valuable lesson learned http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVR...=p4506.c0.m245

Lastly I'd try putting a claim in with your insurance company, depending on your deductible you might need to go another route.... Sorry Bro

Just take it to a local tire shop and see if they can send it in to get fixed. I had to do that to a wheel that I curbed because I spun out on ice. It only cost me 150 to get fixed and that was the end of it. Your not going to get money from the car wash so your just looking at paying for it on your own.

Live with it and learn to wash your car by hand. Oh and it defintly doesn't look like damage from a car wash. The scratch is rusted already.

Carwashes are LIABLE for all damage they do to any vehicles. I know this personally, when one went haywire and attacked my wifes car.

Even if they have signs it means nothing. It's just like the signs posted out side of walmart, grocery stores, target, etc... about cart damage to cars. Or home owners and dog signs. Or 18 wheelers/dump trucks with "not responsible for flying debris"

They put these signs up in hopes to prevent people from thinking they can do something. It's the cheapest insurance ever for them imo. Imagine if I put a sign on my car "Not liable for my driving, so if I hit you sorry". It doesn't work like that.

File a police report immediately. Go to car wash and inform their management. They will fill out an insurance worksheet. They HAVE to fill out paper work and report it to their insurance. Then call your insurance company and let them know.

This is why I do not take my car to washes that use the automatic system. Having to drive your car onto that track just leaves to much chance for damage. Not to mention the spinning brushes and things will probably give you swirl marks. I only take my car to "touchless" car washes. You drive in onto a big cement parking pad. Then an arm works around your car spraying it with water, soap, wax etc. No swirling brushes, no track system to chip your rims on.

Sorry for you problem man. In the future on go to car washes without the track for the wheels, and no spinning brushes. I am sorry to say, but I really don't think you are going to get anything out of the wash. Most places the sign right before you drive in says "Due to the variety of vehicles "so-and-so" car wash is not responsible for any damage that may occur when using this wash". Or something along those lines.

Good luck with fixing it man

u just proved my point... think about it... how could it be rusted already? ... i got the car only 5 days ago... rust can not form in 5 days on rims so where would it come from? ... oh thats right... THE RUSTED METAL CLAMPS THAT THE CAR WASH HAS BEEN SCRATCHED OFF TO MY RIMS ...

you just proved my point, so thanks

... and i will be going to a local tire shop and a chevy dealer tmr to get an estimate on fixing them... my insurance is a $1000 deductable... so if its not more then taht ill have to pay outta my pocket either way... otherwise im filing a claim with shell's insurance and my own

1. I would like to pleasantly correct everyone that the Camaro Wheels are not Chrome, they are Polished there is a difference.

2. Find a local business that repairs damaged wheels, always see professional help when you know nothing, asking non-professional people will get non-professional answers as we have seen in this thread.

It's very simple... you immediately inform the carwash that you expect them to fix it. They should be the ones to know whether a car can go through their system without damage or not.

If they do have proper disclaimers in place and deny you, then contact your insurance Co, tell them what happened, and suck it up and pay the deductable. Let your insurance go after the car wash if they want to re-coupe the loss.
