Design1stCode2nd, great find on the Edmund's article, has some great stuff in it, but some of it contradicts the other mags (you can get an RS/SS according to them), talks about the hood slit, etc, etc. Its definitely worth reading even if it does mean some of the apparent contradictions will not be solved till Monday...What would we speculate about all weekend if we had it nailed....

The article does make it clear that they did not want the mags to take pics of the SS...Its almost like they new that SOMEBODY would leak something and then the rest of the world would break the embargo and publish early...That might lead you to think the Fbodfather and Camero and the others were not only very smart but pretty clever as well

Great stuff, can't wait for ALL the details....AND THANK YOU GM and the Camaro team!!!

So this will run from March 2009-say august 2010 as a 2010 model/18months?
YES! MY DREAM HAS COME TRUE! You can get the Camaro SS with the RS package! That means can get my beloved V8, without having to say it's an SS! (You can get any Chevy car with the "SS" badge, the "RS" badge is strictly Camaro)

Also, Edmunds has a full article with V8 info too. Good stuff:

OK so here's the deal. I'm pretty busy through next Wednesday, and I think I spend too much time posting here as it is (evidence: my post count). Given the way information is flowing now, there's no way I can keep up with commenting on it all. How the mods manage to read every post is beyond me. Props to you guys. So you won't see me around here much for the next few days. In fact I don't even think I need to post much. Words can't do this justice. I have only this to say: in my opinion, this is just about perfect. There is not one thing now that disappoints me. I will be getting my SS (possibly with RS package) as soon as financially feasible. I couldn't be happier with how this turned out, and a HUGE thanks goes out to everyone who worked on this car. Honestly, I have nothing more to say. WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The V8 Mustang is around $25K. How much is the V8 Camaro going to cost consumers?

Have we heard pricing for Camaro yet?

OK I'll break with my "no posting" prediction to ask this: where do you get that the SS will start for $10,000 over the GT? We've been told all along pricing will closely follow the Mustang. Not even the Challenger R/T goes that high.

Nice article, stovt001!

Did anybody read this and catch this part:

Every Camaro comes with the staggered half-shafts, even for those of you who might choose to have your SS equipped with an automatic. In this case, the automatic is a six-speed unit (6L80 in GM Powertrain parlance) that features shift paddles on the steering wheel. Each downshift will be accompanied by a rev-matching throttle blip.

Paddle shifters?? It just keeps getting better and better

Just pointing out the HUD. And I've gotta say that I hope the Camaro will be priced around the Mustang, because I will NOT pay $40,000 for a crappy V8 *cough* Dodge *cough* No offense to people like Muscle Master

That edmunds article is pretty damn informative.

How in the hell did they get all that info?

I'm wondering if the cat is out of the bag and GM has started to let the details out.

Hmmm.
