Such of awesome car but I don't understand why they dropped on value like crazy while the Shelby GT350R are still selling for over MSRP

Advertising! GM sucked at marketing this car. I bought a brand new one and GM told me nothing about the car. I happened to walk in to a dealer ship that had one while getting my oil changed. No commercials, no youtube videos, no Facebook ads nothing. I was tracking a C5 Corvette regularly. GM should have found some way to reach me.

The used car pricing books all know the MSRP started at $76,000 but was dropped to $50,000. You cannot look at the $76,000 number any more. Sorry for those who paid that. I have said before I got mine for $42,000 brand new off the show room floor.

I tried to buy the first one I saw but the dealer was asking $85,000. I am sure many other dealers made this mistake and over priced a car that had no market. The target market for the car was never told the car was made.

I did know about the Z51, Z07 and Z06 Corvettes. I knew all about those and was saving up for one. My plan was to get a new Z06 but I decided against it with the heating issues.

Ford told everyone about the Mustang. Ford only has the Mustang and no higher track car like the Corvette. So GM was competing with them self.

I know two guys who looked at the Z28 but bought Z06's.

I've said it before; GM needs to fix their rapidly declining car values, otherwise people will stop buying GM products that have some of the highest vehicle portfolio "sticker" prices in the industry.

I would also second the above and add one thing. The marketing they did have told the story of a track car only - DO NOT get this car for the average person - do not drive on the street! While I read that and said YES, many said NO. While I've only tracked this car a few times, I do drive it to work. I love this car. It's now paid for, so I bought a new raptor for bad weather days, I drove this car in all types of weather and never had an issue.

So in the end GM did screw up - but I did not! Yes I paid $76K, but its the most fun I have ever had in a car. It is a true old school / modern muscle car that drives like a super car. It has more power than I'll ever use (I'm a crap driver) and it looks and sounds perfect.

I don't care if they are selling for $100k or $20k...I am going to drive mine until my attorney calls my beneficiary to let them know it his/hers now.
I'm with you and Justified, I've just turned 5000, and you'll have to pry my cold dead hands off my steering wheel to cremate me.LOL....

Again as before->> I've always said >> in time, we long term owners see price escalation..as they are not building anymore Z/28's, nor 427's in Camaro's EVER again.

Justified that Craigslist looks like yours...

Never say Never at best I'd say probably years ago I thought no more Big blocks would be built and technically I was right but 427 / 500 hp is a BB!

now about the values freak/odd cars cars are like this, just look at the first 69 ZL1 camaros hard to give them away when new, now seeing values today we all should of bought one! these may continue to drop then will go up low miles, OE drivetrain are great plus IMO if your enjoying them then please continue you got a keeper!

Just saw post sales results for Manhiem Auto Auctions, Manhiem, PA location. Today was regular dealer sale.

2015 Z/28 Black 1690 miles - $42,750.

There's your trade in value. Ah, so sad.
