I looked at installing them but didn't see much benefit. So no, I didn't even try.

I will do my best to get it installed without issues. Thankyou for the help and suggestions all

PS 67 GTO - Is your intake touching the lip of the coresupport on either side of the air gap? I can get my key fob into the middle gap and a fingertip on either side of the intake gap where the intake sits closest to the coresupport lip. It seems to want to "ride-up" and close the middle gap a bit and touch the front lip of the support with the two highest points of the intake. In your first picture -to the left and right of the gap there appears to be no gap between the intake (look where the corners of the filter are). This seems to be my problem- it wants to shift upwards and touch a little bit. This leaves a slightly small gap (can jam key fob in there- but takes effort). Thankyou for the pics btw
The intake is a little closer to the core support than I like but the intake tube is hard up against the TB and the intake has no where to go.

It may be just with the Auto guys? The motor may sit back just a bit with a manual.

Even on the ones that supposedly fit right it seems that there is very little room for air to enter from the front (12sq" at most) and that more air is being pulled in from the sides that are exposed to the engine bays hot air.
Am I just not seeing this correctly?

Quick question, the slots in the intake for the radiator brackets, mine are touching the left side of each slot. Are they suppose to be or are they suppose to be more towards the middle of the slot?

Here are two pictures. The first is driver side and second is passenger side.
did ya put them in the rite srew holes

Throttle body opening is just under 3" diameter (~7 sq in) and the stock intake inlet was about 3" x 3" (9 sq in). The Vararam intake isn't starving for air with its design. When you are moving, the air hitting the scoop is allowed to fan out off the sides of scoop as it moves up towards the intake. This allows the incoming air to reach the side areas of the intake as well.

Not trying to sling mud....just trying to understand for my own decisions.
I appreciate you explanation.

I totally understand how my questions could have been misconstrued as saying it's a bad product. That is not my intention at all. I have very high hopes for this product and appreciate all of the effort that has been put into it by all concerned!

Well I turned the car over, let it idle and no cel.

I'll take the car out tomorrow to get the easy driving 30 mile learn time in and then start kicking it up a notch.

The intake is well made and looks good. IMO

I did a couple more 0-60 mph runs this morning with the Injen so I have some data to compare with the VR when the time comes.

Time will tell.

67GTO...maybe its just the angle of your picture, but looks like the air inlet area is even tighter than other pics I've seen. Do you have the right amount of clearance there? As stated before, a keyfob should between..with just a tad bit of extra space.

Just checking!!

Could gain an addition 1/8" or so by loosening the rear hose clamp and sliding the intake towards the engine to close the gap seen between the hose and the raised section on the throttle body.

I'll play with it a bit to see if I can a little more space there. Like I said, the VR tube is hard up and square against the TB so it can't move back any.

I'll try and move the intake up and down to see if that creates any more space.

I looked back on this thread for pics and I'm not that far off from what I've seen.

Thanks, I'll double check that but I pushed the hose onto the VR tube as far it could go and thats why you may see the 1/8" at the TB.

I tried to make sure the VR tube and the TB mated up. I'll check that again.
