Thanks for all of the advice. It is a pretty expensive trip, just based off of my initial research. The worst part (for me at least) is that I am sacrificing some of my wanted mods for the Camaro to pay for the trip. But at 26, I am just thankful to have a Camaro.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon on the big island...we are outdoorsey so hiking and four wheeling is awesome there...it's is also the only island with active volcanoes so we took a helicopter tour which was a blast...beachfront is hard to find in some areas
so it would be a good idea to research the hotel...

Honestly you wouldn't go wrong on any island there...

My wife and I have been there about 7 times and I totally agree. Especially with this statement. "Our favorite is Kauai, very quiet. Maui is a good mix. Oahu is a don't stay for too long place."
We have a ton of info and advise so PM us if you would like input on where to stay and what to do.

I would say go to Oahu, Waikiki area, cost wise it is cheaper and alot to see and do, shopping, the beach is right there, book single trips to Pearl Harbor, Hanauma Bay, Polynesian Center, the buffet is great there. I usually stay at the Hawaiian Hilton Village.

I've been several times before too. Hilton Hawaiian Village is the bomb and there are several different types of rooms and towers there. It's right on the beach and your parents can walk lots of places from there. Should definitely rent a car and drive around the island. I would agree with all the statements except the on about Oahu and not staying there long. Hilton Hawaiian Village is a great place to stay and very peaceful oasis in the middle of busy Waikiki! Look on cheaptickets.com! There are also condos at many of the destinations that are quite nice and may be more reasonable!

For once, I will have to agree with this "Cornhusker"!! Go to Oahu for two-three days to do the touristy things, but then go to Kauai/Maui/Big Island for a true Hawaii experience. Cruise works great to!!

Maui For sure! We stayed in Napili Shores. Which is on west side of the island past Ka'anapali and Lahaina. Lahaina is the hang out spot for alot of people. Locals are really cool, and the mom and pop restaurants are neat. I would recommend them to go drive to the top of haleakala to see the sunrise (bring a jacket and sweats it's like 30 degrees up there). There is a lot to do on Maui, plus is very relaxing. We also did and excursion "Hike Maui". Fantastic hike waterfalls that you can jump off of, rope swings etc. It's off of Hana highway. need i say more...

My wife and I have been to Oahu and Maui. You can't go wrong with either. Oahu is seems more "touristy", as least some parts of it. If you send them to Oahu, they have to go eat at Jameson's By the Sea (great place to have dinner and watch the waves and sunset on the North shore). If they go to Maui, they have to eat at Mama's Fish House (best food my wife and I have ever had in the US). We didn't get a chance to do it, but everyone said to go watch the sunrise on Maui at Haleakala.

BTW, very nice of you and your siblings to do this for your parents.
