Tuning your car
Yes, a tune will void your warranty on your engine, trans and rear axle, but that is it and yes, you may only pick up 20 more horse at the rear tires but where you get the best of a tune is in the lower RPM range where you will see more like 30 to 40 more horse and you can tune out the torque management in the trans that will really "wake up" your take off!!!

OOPS
I just realized you have a stick so the torque management is not a problem for you how ever the void warranty on the trans is. Sticks have had problems with the output shafts so stay away from a tune!!!! That is where us with the 6A have an advantage over you guys!!!! Autos are much easier on everything and we can make more power down low and don't have to worry about the warrany issue due to the fact that Chevy has build a GREAT DRIVE TRAIN!!!!

Nah, he hasn't taken delivery yet. The output shaft problem (until proven differently) was an issue for early production cars. His shaft should be fine.
wait... that just sounds wrong ![]()

ALSO...3.70's are available now from Lingenfelter...and Richmond is coming out with 4.10's and 3.70's this month. A tune in an M6 probably isn't worth doing by itself if you don't plan on any other mods and you are worried about your drivetrain warranty...but since you're talking about adding Cam, headers, gears, possible supercharger etc...you're gonna need a tune anyway (plus your drivetrain warranty is done anyway at this point). As long as your car is tuned by someone who knows what he's doing, it's not gonna directly heart anything and your car will run much better.

![]() ....and people keep forgetting, reputable supercharger manufacturers and the installers thereof, usually provide a powertrain warranty similar to the powertrain warranty provided by GM. |

I would suggest starting out with a cold air intake kit. Roto-fab, G5CR, Hennessey, etc are all great products.
The next thing would be to get a nice sounding exhaust. SLP makes great sounding kits. Those are probably the 2 most popular bolt ons to start with. Good Luck! |

I would definately start with a good CAI, Long tube headers, and a tune. Those mods make a real noticeable increase in power and they make your car sound like a real muscle car.
See how you like that setup for a while. Then you can look into a nice cam package if you want to add another 50rwhp or so. |
