My car was in the shop for months while waiting on a headliner. I hounded them for about 3 months before the body shop manager finally was able to get one delivered for replacement on my car. And why would GM want to pull piece of the production line to try and satisfy a customer in need? It is pretty sad that GM would not want to keep their customer base satisfied when the time comes that they need replacement parts for cars that have been in accidents.
And by the way, not sure how many people are aware of this, but any time the side impact airbags deploy, it destroys the headliner. Hence the need for a replacement.

Yea, I rode this wave as far as I could. GM pretty much told me to pack sand in my a$$ and wait for the process to take place. They have an "estimated" arrival of July 22nd for the part. Yesterday it was estimated at July 28th. Who knows when it will actually arrive. All I know is that I feel that GM failed me. I won't be back again for another car after this experience. It's over to Ford for me the next time around. Three people alone in this thread have waited months for replacement parts. That's no way to run a company.

I'm waiting on a headliner too!!!!

I was supposed to pick my car up this afternoon, but the body shop said they don't have it in yet. He said they ordered it a while back as an expedited order, and later found out it was backordered. He's been trying to get one from another dealer around but anyone that has one has it allocated already. So he's giving it back to me tomorrow with the old one in until the new one shows up.

I took my 04 Envoy in yesterday to have some dents knocked out. An LOL backing out of a parking space, didn't seem to realize she was taking off my mirror and scraping the hell out of the 2 doors and rear quarter panel. Anyway, when I called in last week the first thing the paint and body guy did was check for parts availability as the car is driveable and he didn't want me to bring it in and have it sit for a week or two while he was getting parts.

This is correct. That's why the body shop can't just check for parts before starting to work on your car....it's not driveable as soon as the curtain airbags deploy. So customers are just sitting here waiting.

I would like to hear from some GM people from this site about this. They are losing some customers over this and it doesn't have to happen, yet it is. I can see being out of a part, but waiting for months? WTF??? That just ain't right.

GM already spoke. They told me that customer care isn't the issue here. Getting me a headliner is the issue. WTF? Yes, that's what the woman told me. This is after I asked her how the hell this is considered customer service when they're telling me there is nothing they can do and they can't tell me how long their official process and procedure is for SPAC orders. The more I think about what I was told today, the more pissed off I become.
