The GM gauge pack kit is plug and play. Here are the part numbers to google.
part number 92247189 is for all models with automatic transmissions part number 92247187 is for V6 models with manual six speed part number 92247188 is for V8 model with manual six speed. If I recall correctly, the only difference between the two manual transmission ones is the shift pattern on the plate is different.

I was going to get the 4 pack gauges, but found that an Ultragauge was much cheaper and gives much more information. So for me the con is what you get for the price.

I like having them... It helps keep the retro styling and nod to its origins... They are actually useful for me during races and just driving around on the street to keep tabs on the system before I get in to an error condition... You can be proactive or reactive on things like that and I choose the former.
I have a middle console and glove box for storage and pockets for the rest.. |

Lol its hilarious to me that so many would rather have the storage space, I was searching for the gauges for months before I found the part number to order them! I wanted the gauges as soon as I saw my car didn't come with them.

See that's the way I initially felt as well. In 09 when I was deciding what car I wanted and what options I wanted it was "well, I definitely want leather" and "oh yeah for sure, I definitely want the 4 pack gauge so I can check on eng temp, trans temp, battery voltage, and oil pressure" But now I'm finding myself really wanting there to be a storage space there instead of gauges. I completely understand that they are there out of nostalgia as a nod to the '69. I get it. I get what they are for. I understand exactly what eng. temp, trans temp, battery voltage, and oil pressure are and why it is important to know that information. All I'm saying is, that I wish that info was displayed on my DIC, and I had a storage space in place of the gauges. |

I don't think my DIC is big enough to have all that info on it!

That is really a cool diagnostic tool. Is it really only $59.95? It connects to the ODB port right? I don't think I would want it stuck by suction cup to my windshield due to vision issues, but that is a nice scan tool nonetheless. More information about your real experience with this please.

I like the 4 pack but I seldom use. I am older, have excellent far vision for driving, but need reading glasses and 4 pack displays hard for me to read without putting on reading glasses.
Regarding an additional open storage space on the console would be nice but I have adapted. Daily I use 3 separate sets of keys: Camaro key with FOB, home keys (3 = apartment door, door to enter parking garage, mailbox key) plus a sensor to electronically open entry/exit underground parking (like magic just hold sensor up the little red light, little light turns green and parking garage door opens [LOL]), plus separate key ring for office keys (3 keys [soon to be added an electronic card to open and lock doors]) and office keys have become a serious office space security issue. I have adapted. I ordered the smoker’s package with my 2011 2LT, so only one cup holder, not two. Smokes in Canada are a different size (European size) so smokes will not fit my one remaining cup holder. Perhaps some of you are concerned some Camaro owners smoke in their cars; I am equally concerned some of you use cell phones when driving. Also I have issues where I put my sunglasses when entering & exiting below ground parking garage. I have light sensitive eyes so in daylight I need sunglasses. I have adapted because I use a "Man Bag". Small shoulder bag, with many zipper pockets. A place for my multiple key chains, sunglasses, reading glasses, cigs, cell phone, etc. I think GM could offer an accessory shoulder "Man Bag" to every Camaro owner (joking). My “Man Bag” works for me because I have no manly identity issues. On the other hand, perhaps the “Man Bag” concept might only work in Canada and Europe because us guys, outside of the US who like fast stylish cars, are not hung up with the need to appear manly. |
