I think the 2012's are rated 29 highway, but I honestly have no idea how you'd get there. from my experience, you'd have to really baby it for a long time to pull it off. I think at least half your drive would have to be downhill too.

I never mentioned V6' s. That's the chip on your shoulder interfering with your ability to comprehend what you are reading, or to take a little kidding.

You obviously can't do either.

When someone scans a CAMARO forum, a thread about gas mileage isn't what you ever expect to see.

Hey SSBlack, you're right I did jump the gun a little bit. I apologize. I just sometimes get tired of being bashed (and not necessarily on this forum) about having the v6. Something I just have to live with I guess. Sorry to jump all over you about it. I was out of line. I am proud of my car and think it's a great vehicle. I dealt with the same stuff for the last three years with a Challenger v6. The Prius thing was actually kind of funny. Truce?

Be careful OP....the last time I started a thread in here about how I was getting 32+ MPGs I got the old-
To be honest with you I really didn't give a crap what they were saying about it being BS!, after all is said and done it is ME that pays to fill my tank! Not them! I love the fact that I am getting this kind of mileage, it helps bolster one of the main reasons I used in order to convince pertinent family members into buying it.
I was filling up the car just the other day and someone filling their car up next to me made the comment "Wow I bet you are hating these gas prices driving that thing" I just looked at them and said "at 32+MPGs and 323 HP whos hating?" his jaw just dropped when I said that, I have a feeling he has visited the dealership in the last few days.
they can holler BS all they want, but I have nothing to prove to them.
The thread I started at the time was geared to help other V6 owners achieve that kind of gas mileage, not start a V8 vs V6 war. but for some reason or another these types of threads seem to go that route and get shut down.
This forum is going to H3ll in a handbasket because there are many folks in here that have a chip on their shoulder.
What many folks like this dont realize is that Camaros have been made with 6 cylinder engines from the 60s to the present.
What I find funny is the fact that there are many folks in here posting about how they are getting 30+ MPGs in SSs and there are folks in here trading their car in now because of the crappy gas mileage in there SS. If you were getting 30 MPS like lots of folks in here claim to be getting, then trading your car for another that gets the same mileage would be ridiculous.
If you are however getting crappy mileage and do a lot of miles than I can sort of understand why you would be trading your car in.
On another note- this little war that is going on in here over V8 vs V6 is just utterly nonsense, when potential new members visit this site and all they see are these types of threads, they are more apt to go elsewhere and not join this one. these types of threads are the reason why I am thinking of leaving as well.
This is supposed to be a Camaro enthusiast site.....not a pissing contest, or a "Mines bigger/better than yours" Snoot fest.
I had better stop venting now.....my apologies.
