Wheels are way overpriced. I really like the cor forged precise or the 360 forged mesh 8 but they are like 5k without tires! Wheel companies make so much money off of people lol.

Now? Not so. Keep in mind that most of you out there were used to buying 16-18" wheels for previous cars. Some of you may have felt wheels in that size range were already expensive. I remember having customers nearly fall over to see $3K on a set of 18s about a decade ago.
20s and larger have always been expensive. Their prices have actually come down in the last 10 years since the sizing has become more mainstream. Keep in mind that these are forged wheels. They aren't cheap Chinese cast junk poured into a wheel-shaped Jello mold with low quality recycled materials. Forged wheels start out as a huge disk of forged aluminum, top-quality material. Then it gets machined into a wheel, using state of the art CNC milling equipment. TaylorRyan, "overpriced" is a relative term. I don't think you understand how much the materials alone cost. Then you factor in the six-figure machining equipment, company overhead costs like; employee salaries, marketing expenses, paint finishers, assembly labor, QC inspections, CNC programmer costs, testing, building rent, etc... all these add to the company costs. Wheel companies have to make a profit too, to stay in business. There isn't as much profit in each wheel as you think, a wheel like this might have 8-10% profit in it at the end of the day. Pretty reasonable.

20" wheels have alway been expensive because they were specialty sizes...Now 20" wheels are common place and IMO should not come remotely close even $500/wheel. That crazy amount you spend on a set of wheels these days can be much better spent elsewhere...

Too bad none of these companies are publicly traded. I'd love to take a look at their financial statements.

Yes I am in agreement that wheels ae insanely overpriced. It is time for companies to relook their business practices and amount of materiels used in forming these wheels. taking a huge chunk and CNCing over half of the materiel is a waste of money and that waste is passed onto the consumer. Shame on these wheel manufacturers for doing this.

Buy a cheap cast wheel if you are worried about material waste. They do recycle all the trimmings.
Do you know just how many recycled beer cans it takes to make those expensive rims?? It's 11 cases per wheel.......that's a lot of beer to drink! They have to pay someone to do that, which increases their overhead. Seriously, they cannot charge more than the market will pay. As stated already: quality materials, high tech equipment, US labor, and overhead & profit add up. Cheap imports may look good for a while, but may not last. The ability to fix a 3 piece wheel by changing a hoop or center is a plus. Not buying a whole wheel. What's the old saying.....you don't get something that's needed when it good and cool if you don't shell out some of the clams in your dusty old wallet.

The good companies don't really make a "killing" on these larger forged rims. The equipment required to make these rims is VERY expensive. They have to sell a lot of rims to even recover their equipment costs much less cover their daily operating expenses. And how many sets of rims can they realistically expect to sell? They have to price them accordingly in order to have even a chance to make money.
Forged rims, especially multiple-piece rims are labor intensive to make. Each rim is hand made. They literally cut the centers from a big, solid slug of aluminum, and then hand assemble the entire rim. They also have to get them painted, coated, etc. to what the customer wants. Each rim is then carefully checked to make sure the set matches. They're expensive because they're expensive to make.
