Who would like a Bumblebee package?

The newest version of Bumblebee from the Transformers 2 movie has a modified fascia and hood. The fog lights have been incorporated into two vertical air scoops, the chin spoiler is blacked out and incorporated into the lower air intake area, the hood now has a massive scoop while the previous leading edge intake above the grill is eliminated. There are also some really cool wheels.

All of this gives the Camaro a much more aggressive look, and in my opinion really brings the styling home. These are clearly GM Styling cues as Ed Wellburn (head of GM Design) discussed these at the Chicago Auto Show press conference.

I am trying to gauge demand on a "package" (not using the Transformers name or Bumblebee) to add these styling elements. I am working with a well established shop in Detroit who does show cars and prototypes. We are considering low volume "hero" car builds/modifications.

Also engine modification packages including a 427 short block to bring the power to over 500 HP could be an option too.

I'd personally prefer a standard 2SS in Rally Yellow with the black stripe package. The black lower lip, fog lights, and hood scoop are a bit over the top for me. Plus, I'm one of the few who actually prefer the shorter hood stripes that end on the hood.

To each his own though - the Bumblebee is certainly impressive and would turn heads everywhere it went.

I would love to see this package. I love the look of the new Bumblebee. It looks so much more mean, and agressive, IMO. I think I may be one of the only ones that likes the look, but ah well . I like it, a lot!!

Hoodscoop and fascia

Guys, i love this hoodscoop. It's the first one I have seen that really adds to the Camaro's lines which are so natural and freeflowing. The front fascia airscoops where the foglights are do need to blended in better. I like the agressive look but have ideas on making them less obtrusive.

The look of the chin spoiler really gives this car a "meaner" and lower look.

Just trying to gauge the interest in this idea of a "package" that would incorporate similar styling cues.

The hood might be a nice addition to a V6 which looks a little plain without the mail slot. Other than that, the look of the new Bumblebee is butt ugly.

The new look is not even close to the quality of the original look. I really don't like it at all and wish they kept the vehicle the same. If it aint broke, why change it? I would love a Bumblebee Package of the original Bumblebee (Sunrise paint ofcourse and True painted black stripes) That would be much easier to accomplish than this..and it would look 1000000 times better..

I'd say turn it into the new Z/GT500 killer. Throw a S/C and CAI in there with the hood scoop functioning just like it should. But please leave the leather at the factory.. Thanks GM.

Exactly what I was going to say. GM had their chance to give us this kind of package. Rally yellow with the current stripes just didn't cut it for me. That's why I changed my color to IOM.

We really are looking at a package that could give you a Mustang 500KR killer for less than a Z06 if you wanted.

Carrol Shelby is introducing a "snake" package that is IMHO hideous and he wants 150k for these. I am not saying we would produce a 700 hp package, although 550 HP would be really nice. it is very achievable using a 7 liter short block. More hp requires a S/C, again not that difficult. Thanks

I would LOVE the bumblebee color. All the rest, albeit nice, is not necessary. Regardless, I am still getting yellow w/ black stripes.

So if I understand it you're going N/A using a GMPP plant?

And around 60K~? Puts it right in GT500 territory. I think you guys are on to something here while the Z/28ers salivate in anticipation for a factory option.

Z 28

I am not sure they are going to do a Z 28. I would have anounced it by now if I was GM. That is part of the issue, they build a 9/10ths Camaro but don't take it alll the way. They did with the Corvette ZR1 but that is the flagship.

I have owned Firebirds, Z28's, IROC, Trans Ams, and now a GTO because GM gave up on the pony car market.

I have 400 hp in a coupe. Everybody else is waiting at this point.
