#9950 Arrived Silently..

My salesman stated that I should look at a yellow LT2 with black rally stripes last week but I didn't have time to check. I decided to drive down to the dealeship tonight to check it out and they told me the car was already sold. I was like, "Bummer." So I asked the sales manager where my car was. He said they received two more not including the SIM they had in the showroom. I was like, "What color were they?" just out of curiosity and he told me that one was an IOM 2SS. I was like, wouldn't happen to belong to a guy named Rizzo, could it. He checked the records and did anticipate his response. "Yes, indeed it is your car!" Ecstatically, I asked him, "Could I please check it out?" He said it was at they Used Car lor behind their auto body guys' shop.

I head down there and the damn gate is closed. I waved over a salesman and said, "Hey, could you please open the gate for me? The orange Camaro is mine." He looked at me, rolled his eyes and said, "Ehh, the gate is closed, but although I have the key, I can't let you in and you need to come back tomorrow." I was probably about 15 years younger than him and if he's working a used car lot, he's probably upset a 32 year old was getting this car without any debt or requiring any help (I put $15,000.00 BTW for those that are curious). My wife is willing to co-sign for a good interest rate, but anyway. I was actually very frustrated and upset, but I got over it. I was able to take a picture of it through the fence so it is definitely legit!

Some kids were making special trips down the street to gawk at the car sitting there...just smiling and drooling. Hahahaha! I couldn't get anywhere within 20 feet of the car and even sitting there by it's lonesome, out of the public eye, it STILL draws attention. Amazing!

Apparently the car arrived today, and thanks to that wonderful post by camaro5.com member "Number 9," I still had a chance to tell the detail/prep guys to gently hose off my car with very low pressure water so as not to scratch the paint or create "swirls." I was afraid my car was going to show up and I'd miss the chance to ask them to be extra careful with my love (sounds corny coming from a sarcastic guy, I know).

Now I have to work out the details about the accessories and financing, but in the meantime, I wanted to let members know that I don't think anybody has an IOM 2SS that has both painted the ground effects AND had black rally racing stripes cover the car from the bottom lip of the front ground effects all the way over the spoiler and back down the bottom part of the ground effects by the exhaust. When it is complete, I will post plenty of pictures, so even though the picture is crappy, here is the long-awaited Vin #9550! Man, I hope I can drive it tomorrow!

Congratualtions man!!! She sounds beautiful and looks pretty darn good even in that little picture. Can't wait to see some good pictures.
