Car Trailer
I am in the market for a car trailer.. just curious what you guys are using? Anything specific I should look for? I am concerned with how low my car is with the 1" drop. Oh and I will be pulling the ZL1 with a 2002 Tahoe.

As long dove tail as possible, long ramps, and torsion axles for low ride height. If it's an open trailer low fenders or removable fenders so you can open the doors. 16' min but 20 is perfect as you can adjust car position for ideal tongue weight and get good strap angles. Electric brakes instead of surge brakes. Swivel jack and d ring hooks. I could go on and on.

Do you think a skid steer trailer would work? I can get access to one of those for free whenever.. It's a 16' and about 2800lbs... I am just not sure about the ramps.. prob need to use race ramps or something similar to get low enough.

In looking at skid steers, I am guessing most are not wide enough.

I do not see any d-rings on the floor of the trailer. Where would you tie your car down to? I also think that trailer will be to heavy with your car on it to pull behind a tahoe. Just my thoughts.

The skid steer trailer will be plenty heavy duty but technically about as opposite of ideal as they come. That one has a 2' dove tail, skid steers have very short wheelbases so it's irrelivent for them. Second it has 8 lug heavy duty axles, which sit higher than standard 3k axles. Then the fenders are taller for the heavy duty tires. The trailer is super heavy duty which is fine but you are tugging an extra 1000lbs that you don't need. If it's free and a trailer you rarely use you should be able to use it, although it will take some effort. You will either need to crank the jack down to raise the front of the trailer to improve the approach angle or pull your tow vehicle up on some stepped boards. Then you will need to get a few 2x10's and stair step the approach for the ramps. None of this is hard or big deal but separates the ideal car trailer from a equipment trailer.

It has stake pockets on the side and you can hook the trailer frame by running the strap over the deck frame.
