If You Had To Choose: Challenger vs. Mustang
Okay, we all know that the muscle car wars are back on and I was wondering if you HAD to buy a muscle car right now, would you rather buiy a Mustang (Shelby doesn't count) or a Challenger?

I'd have to get one of those bad ass looking saleens, all black and blacked out, tinted out and with an ls7 and a world class handling package. So far I haven't seen anything special about the challenger. I like it but it's just ok. Know what I mean?

I'd take the challenger if I had to. I like dodge, but I'd rather get a charger over the challenger.

Hmmm...Interesting question. Maybe a poll should be put in place?
![]() I'd rock a Mustang. Looks good, and with my help...it could perform good ( ). And it's the only other pony car with 35+ years of heritage behind it. I can't get into a Challenger. Despite it's outward appeal...it's too bland. And WAY too big. I don't care too much about wieght - but no pony car should be that big. Kinda like two lead bricks...they both might weigh the same, but one's bigger than the other. Plus, my priorities have always been GM, then Ford, then Crysler.

I'd buy a new Corvette or a first gen Z/28. Nothing but Chevrolet for me please.

Challenger all the way... 425hp, six speed (available in 2009 SRT8 models), a backseat that is actually functional and looks that take me back to the Hemi Cudas and Hemi Challengers that I love... no doubt about it, if I wasn't so dyed in the wool GM, I'd be a Mopar lover

Easy decision here, Mustang. The Challenger offers nothing in the way of bang for your buck. It screams midlife crisis to me (as most Dodge products do). Mustangs are a dime-a-dozen and poor quality...but in the essence of muscle-cardom...that's what I am looking for.
Now that I've played along, time to go ahead and throw out there that I'd pick up a G8 before either of them. |

Id go mustang...the challenger really dosent do anything for me! I looks nice, those "new hemi's" which arent really hemi's in my opinion. Id seriously go spend the money 1970 challenger. The mustang on the other hand, no matter what you think of ford (and we all know Im anti-ford) has been and still is the poster child of modders/hotrodders/muscle car guys. just like the tuners, it can be got cheap and built up with originality, and personality, and still manage to be bad ass, well for a mustang anyway...lol
and my intials are SVT...lol |

I would have to go with a Mustang out of the two choices.
