i was wondering what kind of fuel you all use in your v6s?

regular 87 octane should get you where you're going. If you got money to burn you could put in 89 octane put its not necessary.

i dont own a V6 but i would assume that the timing will adjust to whatever octane level you decide.I also have a S/C frontier (beater) that recomends premium. I use 89 and it runs fine. |

my car runs real well on 87. just a ? i love my car every thing i want it to be. i traded a 1999 corette vert. on this,but this is more driveable. has plenty of power for me. i have drove v8s but i did not like the way they shift,gess this can be fixed.

The car will run fine on 87 although it appears the that knock sensors are pretty active when running 87... running a higher octane gas reduces the knock sensor activity, so in theory allowing for more timing and improved performance... now whether you can actually feel the difference that is up to you to decide... I know my car feels more peppy with premium and I know I don't see nearly as much knock retard as I do with 87...
and yes I run 93...

Ok... are you familiar with spark knock or pinging?
Knock sensors can "hear" the spark knock/pinging/detonation before you can actually hear the sound in the cabin... When they detect what they think is spark knock they will start to pull/reduce timing, which should eliminate the spark knock but also reduces performance... I have a Dashhawk, which I uses to monitor the cars computer.. one of the things I watch is "Spark Retard" which is the amount of timing the knock sensors are pulling/reducing.... I made a short video showing how active my knock sensors are when I run 87 octane... the spark retard is in the bottom right corner:

yeah... sort of... basically it appears the the computer doesn't reduce the timing as much with higher octane, so in away it is adjusting for it...
