USAA Incentive

I am a member of USAA. I want to use the incentive. My car is in, but the dealer want a Blue Membership Card or Insurance card to honor the Incentive. USAA has given me a Pricing Certificate with a GM code on it. USAA also thinks that a printout of my web page member profile should work in lue of the blue card. I don't want to have to wait two or three weeks for the card to arrive.

Can anyone help by sharing your experience?

Again it's up to your dealership to except the incentive or not. I know some dealers want proof of vehicle insurance through USAA and the blue membership card

My dealer is telling me it's a GM requirement.

My family uses USAA and we have always had to physically have both in hand when purchasing a vehicle from any dealer. To me, having worked on a dealership level, I would consider it a kind of liability issue on their end if they didn't. Printouts and those sorts of documents could be easily forged. NOT SAYING YOU WOULD THOUGH! Think of it as them covering both their a$$ and yours at the same time.

It's not up to the dealer, it is up to GM.

Do you have USAA insurance? If so, a printout of your insured cars work.

Are you current /former military?

That worked for me. I sent my salesman a PDF of this page.

I joined USAA months before getting my Camaro and getting insurance through them. It was not till I got my insurance that I got a USAA Policy number. During the time from joining the website and getting the insurance (at least four months) I kept receving flyers in the mail to join USAA. IMO I think that your really not a member until you start doing business with them and joing on the website and getting a web account is only part of the process of becoming a member.

At one point when I had USAA on the phone (for bank reasons) I asked about my "blue card" and why couldn't I find my membership number anywhere on the website. I was told my membership number was my policy number and that it was on my insurance card and that I would receive my card in a few weeks.

Unfortunaly I could not receive the discount due to the rule of being a member for at least six months.

I could be wrong, won't be the first or last time.

BTW, if you had a previous loan through USAA, you may also use those documents.

This all great information guys, thanks. I wish they told me this when I ordered the car so I could have asked for my blue card right away. I have been a member of USAA for 19 years (at least that is what they told me on the phone). I must have had insurance from them many years ago.
I may end up having them for insurance depending on their rate. I would hate to have to wait for the stupid card - takes 4 - 6 weeks, I asked for it two weeks ago.

I know the page says several weeks but I just went through this and it only took around 7-10 days to get mine in...Hopefully your card will be in soon!

I bought my camaro about a month ago. I signed up for USAA in Jan. and still had not received my card yet, but had my account number from my web login. All I had on me physically was a letter from USAA OFFERING me insurance (my state farm still has better rates). They xeroxed that letter and hand wrote my USAA account number on it (it wasnt anywhere in the letter). They accepted that and gave me the $750 rebate.

There's one way... or call USAA and have them e-mail you proof that you have full membership privleges. Your dealership is correct in asking for the card. The rules were changed in Jan due regular civilian folks joining w/ limited membership just to get the GM discount. Full membership proof is now required.
Maybe your Military ID card along with your USAA profile page printed would do. Bottom line is you should definitely get the discount.

I had same problem about not having card, I checked into their financing and found out they had a better rate than even my Credit Union. Long story short, put in application and 5 min later had pre-appoved loan, paperwork to prove membership and receive $750 incentive. I love it when a plan comes together.
