Great idea. I used to get mice in my wood shop at home all the time with water in a bucket. The mice would go in for a drink and drown. If you buy cheap jack stands I would put a few inches of water in the bucket to drown them - who cares if the jack stands get rusty.
One time I went on vacation and parked my Camaro in my wood shop - big mistake. The mice put a nest in my engine compartment and started to tear apart the insulation on my fire wall for material. The worse thing is that I had my car in for an oil change shortly after that and the dealership never told me about the nest in there. How can you change the oil and not see that?

I store in my garage, but always put fabric softener in the engine bay and stuff the exhaust with rags and steel wool.

bounce or any other kind of dyer sheets . I have used them for the last five years , and no mice or squirrels or chipmunks. I put them in the car and all around the out side . in the engine bay and trunk..

That’s hilarious! God bless the south! It’s 73° here today and not easy for me to fathom cold weather problems you guys have when storing cars and such.
(Great idea though). How many potential ER trips did you count in that video? LOL |

You might want to rethink dryer sheets because they only work for a short time, Google "mice repellent dryer sheets" and see what you get for a response. Here are just a couple I found.

Rodent trash bags work great. They are scented to drive away these vermin.

Whatever you do just don't try moth balls. My father in law stored his vette in our spare garage and the smell was literally taste full something awful and lasted all summer.

Seen a mouse nest built with shredded dryer sheets. I wouldn't take those as gospel.
