What is the difference between them? Why can't aftermarket cats that are engineered for high performance applications be as resilient? Have you or anyone you know tested the stock cats with short headers that bolt right up to the factory mid-pipes, in a higher than stock horsepower configuration? Thanks!

The aftermarket cats are forced to be made cheaper to meet the market and have the higher flow capability. The lesser expensive material they are made form does not stand up to the heat and pressures as well as factory cats. Factory cats are made in a way the is not fitting to any aftermarket headers unless custom fabrication is employed.. There are More expensive aftermarket high flow cat options we offer but people fall off there chair when I tell them they are 550.00 each and require custom fabrication to install them. Ted.
