Power potential ?

Hey gang.

I've got a 2013 zl1 convertible, only power mod so far is a muffler delete and a rotofab. I'm looking for advice on which bolt on mods will generate the most power while running 91 octane. That's as high as I can buy and still enjoy road trips. I just had my supercharger replaced under warranty. I know I'll need a tune and I'm not worried about the warranty, but I don't want to do a cam or headers.

Looking to learn. Thank you.

See my signature for the mods I have done to my car. Dyno numbers are listed too. Torque number is a little low because tires were slipping on the dyno.
I did it all at once but it is not necessary.

Do the headers, not a hard job with these cars and really wakes them up. iF worried about that maybe a pulley and Jannetty tune.

I have the stock mid pipes to rear with headers and no cats and its a significant improvement.

These car have a very specific upgrade track

CAI
pulley 5%-10% / tune
headers / tune
injectors, more pulley, BAP tune
Cam / tune
misc port polish, TB etc

Power goal? What are you looking to spend? Fueling are going to be your first limits (Injectors, BAP). Your lower octane is going to force you to stay easy on the boost. No cam is also going to limit boost levels.

If I were you:

LT Headers - (I'd recommend ARH or Kooks, and go cat-less)
18% OD Pulley - Either 9.1" lower or 2.55" upper, both = 18%.
ID850 or ID1050 Fuel Injectors - Injector Dynamics make the best IMO
Colder plugs, Larger Reservoir, and 160 Degree stat.

This should get you around 600-620 RWHP.

I'd highly recommend looking up Ted Jannetty @ Jannetty Racing and giving him a call. I wouldn't trust anyone more than Ted when it comes to LSA modifications and Octane levels. He'll probably reiterate what I said above. Many people like to push higher boost on no cams, many people like to push more power on too little octane. Ted knows his stuff.

The three folks above are right on..I am just really curious why you want to avoid headers? I get not wanting to open the engine up for a cam kit, but headers on these cars are not bad to do. If you have heard back things about aftermarket cats (which many seem to have problems with them on our higher boosted ZL1), I would just go catless.

$3000 this year. Its a convertible, so I'm not gonna 1/4 mile ever. A least, not on a track with any witnesses.... :-)

Seriously though, I'm probably like everyone else just starting this parh: How much power for how much dollar.

I would start with cai, headers and maybe a Mamo tb and/or pulley.

If you can find an extra 1k, you could go with the JRE-125 package. That's about 125 HP gain. It includes the remote tune.

I would look into Janettys 75rwhp kit as it really wakes the car up, and being in ND you will really appreciate it with the cooler air. Just call him because I don't know if he still sales the 850's so u would be getting the ID1050x and I am not familiar with that tune with 91 octane and or torco mix.

If you can get 93 octane you would be very happy from expirence and done in about 4 hours.
